To our valued Bose S1 Pro system customers. Since the introduction of the S1 Pro multi-position PA system four months ago we heard from you, our customers, on how the S1 Pro was meant to be portable, and truly portable by today's standards is equivalent to "without AC power". For this reason we made a change to the S1 Pro product. Starting today (May 10, 2018), the S1 Pro now ships standard with the S1 Battery Pack included and pre-installed. We heard your feedback and are thrilled to make...Read More...

Two S1 Pros vs. L1 Compact (or other system)

I am a professional magician. I, currently, have a Bose S1 Pro for smaller shows and a Carvin Stagemate (S400) with a matching extension speaker. I use a lot of music in my show and I’m picky about my sound. The S1 Pro does an amazing job for its size and is very convenient. After using the S1 Pro for one week, I did a corporate banquet with my Carvin system last week and decided I was no longer satisfied with the sound. The Carvin was a compromise but I settled on it because it runs on...Read More...
My best of both worlds is a JBL EON ONE and the 2 S1 Pros... And if necessary, add my L1 Mod 2 with 2 B1 subs... I love the Bose systems but gotta' admit that my voice never sounded better than through the EON, it sounds just like the big JBL studio monitors we used in the studio in the 60s and 70s -- except better.Read More...

Mackie ProFX 4 Mixer feed to S1 Pro

I am feeding a small Mackie mixer to my S1 Pro. I just feel I need a little more control over eq at my feet. I also add a short, slap back delay since I prefer this over reverb and often use this together with the Bose reverb. It only has 1/4” left and right out. Using guitar and vocal. I plan to only feed one line out since there is no pan available. Should I: 1. Use TS instrument cable with a di box and convert to xlr before going to S1 Pro? 2. Use a standard TS instrument cable direct in...Read More...

Power switch

I have just purchased a new Bose S1 Pro and following a you tube video upboxed it set the power switch to the 2nd position plunged in the cable and then switched it on. I now the 3rd position is rapid charge and the 1st position is on. When do you use the middle position or position 2? Do you set this to this position everytime you plug the mains in before you switch it on? What position do you set it in when you finished using it? ThanksRead More...
I also use a piece of tape to hold the switch in position 1 (rapid charge position). This triple insures the switch doesn't turn on by accident. I've been doing it this way for a while and haven't had any further problems with accidental switching. I'm hoping the new backpacks will have enough space between the switch and the bag and enough padding to further minimize accidental switching.Read More...

Love the Sound, Size, Weight and Bluetooth but not the line out jack.

Just received my S1 and immediately did a gig using it as monitor added to my L1c and my F1 as main outs. The sound for its size is truly wonderful and the feature set is terrific but on my very first use I accidentally stepped on the cable coming from the output jack going to my L1c and it broke off the jack inside of the unit. Since the unit is called an S1 Pro, it really should be more rugged than that, as most musicians performing live at some point in time step on cables. I have been...Read More...

Dial concern

I have an email in to product support, but has anyone had any issues with dials coming off? New Bose S1 Review

I am now the proud owner of the Bose S1 Pro On the 22nd June 2018. I collected my new Bose S1. I am very pleased with it so far. I connected the power supply and switched it on, paired my laptop with the Bose and played a track through Apple iTunes. Wow!! what fantastic sound quality. very clear sound with great bass. I took the Bose for a gig outside and mounted it on a standard speaker stand to shoulder height and was very impressed. A few observations for anyone about to purchase one- 1...Read More...

Advice for using S1 Pro outdoors

CityFolk
We just finished an outdoor gig with a single S1 at a local farmers market where we were under a 10x10 canopy with open sides. To keep us and the S1 out of the blistering sun, we had it positioned on a speaker stand behind us just at head level under the tent. The volume was just a little over 50%. There was a little wind and the area has no buildings just an open parking lot with tents going about 75-100 yards ahead of us. While this was probably one of the worst case scenarios for the S1...Read More...

S1 Pro while waiting for the Bose Backpack

ST
I noticed a funny coincidence. The dimensions of the S1 Pro are almost the same as the original Apple MacIntosh. S1 Pro system 13.0" H x 9.5" W x 11.2" D Wt 14.5 lbs $2,495 ($6,071-2018) MacIntosh 13.6" H x 9.6" W x 10.9" D Wt 16.5 pounds $599 It was a happy similarity for me. I have a great padded bag with carrying handle and shoulder strap. It'll do fine until the Bose S1 Pro Backpack is available. STRead More...
FYI: This bag available on Amazon and Ebay used and new. Some priced below $99 but watch out for the postage cost which can take you near or above the $99. As for me, I'm holding out for the backpack...Read More...

Bluetooth Low-latency: a suggested Answer

Bluetooth Low-Latency - a possible Answer? Everyone's excited about the Bluetooth on their S1 Pro kit but beware: standard Bluetooth has severe latency around 200ms making it suitable only for streaming backing tracks and NOT for live interactive playing of an instrument via a mobile device app. ANSWER: use a couple of aptX devices to get unnoticeable delays. I use two Avantree (Saturn Pro) devices, these are battery powered with 3.5mm Stereo connections. One set as transmit (TX) and one set...Read More...
I am looking for a reasonably priced bluetooth receivers for my system. Was considering the Bose Soundtouch Bluetooth adapter but can't find any info on it being low latency. Presently have the Alto Bluetooth adapter but they are definitely not low latency . Maybe usable for playing from a smartphone but vocals being delayed is a no go for me as I do karaoke.Read More...

Need specs on S1 Pro TRS Output

My question is about your S1 Pro described at https://www.bose.com/en_us/products/speakers/portable_pa_speakers/s1_pro_system.html with regards to the TRS output. I need to use it for other than a speaker. What is its nominal output level, impedance, and allowable load so that the load does not affect the S1? Many thanks. (I looked at the manual and tried Google, but to no avail - the info is just not there.)Read More...
Sorry, to give that info should have occurred to me. I am planning to connect to consumer line level input (about 1 V nominal), unbalanced, 600 (approx) ohm input impedance. Not knowing anything about that TRS output, I do not know if I need to use a transformer or whether I can just use one side and ground, for example.Read More...

Considering Purchase

Guitargal58
I am considering purchasing this little jewel for my solo shows. I currently use my Yamaha Stagepass 600i and love it...but need a monitor for my Beat Buddy and Digitech VLHM harmonizer. I was using a TC Helicon FX150 but have had issues with both (sent one back...got a replacement...now more issues). I really don't need another PA system but am wondering how this compares to the L1 system (I also have Fishman SA220 solo amp). The larger PA is used mainly for my outdoor gigs at festivals and...Read More...
Thank you all for the replies and suggestions. I am looking forward to my S1 arriving in a few days. At my age I like working smarter not harder and can't believe in the 90's we were lugging around HUGE monitors, speaker cabinets, etc...when "Bigger was Better"! LOL Not anymore!Read More...

Bose connect app with 2 (two) S1 Pro speakers?

I had already bought one S1 Pro in May but when I received news that the Bose Connect App was out and functionable for 2 S1 Pro's...I immediately ordered ANOTHER one and tried the app as soon as I brought my S1 Pro's sister home. I cannot make it work at all. Anybody out there lucky enough to have 2 of these S1 Pros and succeeded using this app? Directions are scarce but if it IS functioning for someone, I must be doing something wrong. Anybody?! ThanksRead More...
I went though this too. To make it completely clear: 1) Download and install firmware updates using a COMPUTER and a usb cable to update firmware on each S1. The IMPORTANT thing is that both S1s are updated to 7.0.10 (or above) 2) Then download the Bose Connect App onto your phone or pad. MAKE SURE that it's version 6.1. Enjoy.Read More...

Daisy chain S1 Pro to l1 model 2 with ts1 Tonematch

Hi, I play through a l1 model 2 and b2 bass sub. Works fine for most situations but I occasionally play a bar with a split room and they have no way to feed the music into there main bar. Can I Daisy the S1 pro with a 30 ft cable? If so, how would this look from the Tonematch? Would I use a trs cable?Read More...
Hi, I've been using L1 Model II with double B1 x 4 with T1 mixer and Sennheiser in-a-ear wireless monitoring system for each musician but also extra receivers plug-in to the extra pair of L1 Model II with B1 subwoofers. Since there is no or almost zero latency in transmitting audio between the transmitter and 6 receivers, setup is perfect for the situation where the extra pair of speakers are required yet far away. There is no need for TRS cables, only power leads. Also Sennheiser system has...Read More...

S1 Pro - availability

I ordered my S1 Pro at my favourite music store (Long & McQuade) in the Toronto area on May 25th. Today I discovered that the expected delivery date is June 11th. That was disappointing. I didn't expect such a long wait. Anyone else have that experience - Canada and the US?Read More...

stereo audio source and S1 Pro

Hi, I played EWI with various vsts/ external synths for my performance. Usually I connect my laptop to T1 tone match with L1 model 2 system and it has been working great. I recently purchased a S1 pro speaker for smaller audience and better portability. For best audio output , I am wondering how to connect PC audio interface stereo output to S1 pro system as it has mono input only.
