Owners Voluntary Assistance Program Here's the short version: The description of this part of the forum says that we can use it for L1™ owners to contact other L1™ owners for various reasons. This Owners Voluntary Assistance program works like this: Owner In Need An owner needs to borrow or rent an L1™ so s/he posts a Needed message here. (See recommended structure in the How it Works section below). Volunteers Other owner volunteers with email Notifications turned on (for this section) will...Read More...
I've added myself as I have two L1 Model II systems for this very reason of not wanting to be stuck if one dies - I tend to use both at gigs now anyway - but I know I can get away with one if I need to (I only had one system for 3 years anyway). If you are in need in the UK and within 50 miles of Milton Keynes I may be able to assist.Read More...

Hi, Need to find a Bose L1 or similar to pair with my Bose L1S. Can't find a store/outlet who rents them. My high school band from 1967 is putting on a reunion concert in Union, NJ on October 13, 2017. Our budget for the show is limited and a Bose forum moderator suggested I post something here. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks much.Read More...

As I used to live in the Lake District in England, the torrential rainfall over the last few weeks with the terrible flooding has left me speechless. My deepest sympathies go out to all those who are having to cope with life there at this time. Take care everyone, Tony (originally from Heversham - near Milnthorpe - in Cumbria).Read More...
Hi DrumrPete, thanks for the nice words in my direction. I've been well aware of your posts since I first started reading the forum which was quite a few years before actually joining in December 2 years ago. I've also watched many of your videos, which I've enjoyed. Regarding the flooding in England, I can watch what's happening on a daily basis as I have satellite reception of english television, and when you see pictures and films of towns (and sometimes even streets that you know) it...Read More...

Blizzards in North America

Seagullman
Hi Everybody, in January last year I started a thread regarding the snowstorms in North America at that time. It seems like it's time to share sympathy with that region once again. I hope that everyone in the stricken areas comes through this weather front unscathed. Take care if you have to go outside. Warm rugs in your vehicle is always a good idea in winter, and enough petrol (gas) in the tank is a must (running engine = heat should all else fail). Take food and something to drink with...Read More...

Thanksgiving 2014

ST
Happy Thanksgiving! May you be in the company of those you choose, doing what you want to do. It's my 11th Thanksgiving with the L1® and it's been a wild and wonderful time. With each passing year I am grateful to still be playing live music. I am thankful to Cliff, Ken, Hilmar, Steve, Kyle, Chris, and all of the other people at Bose who had the vision to bring an idea into reality, and to make that reality available to me. There's a great crew at Bose that to this day keep that all going.Read More...

What makes this forum work?

Hi everyone... It's been a long time since I've posted anything on here. My music partner passed away in 2012 and things were pretty tough; I've been trying to find my bearings again as a musician in the time since then. My apologies if this post isn't quite in the right spot on the forum - feel free to move it if there's a better place for it. I am part of a community of music teachers from around the world who teach a playing-based piano method called Simply Music. SM recently transitioned...Read More...
Hi Rebecca, You're more than welcome. It's been a real pleasure, and going by your last post your SM forum seems to be moving in a positive direction. By the way, I just had a look at your website. A nice rendition of "Somewhere over the rainbow." The fans of my local soccer team have a saying: "Hope is the last thing to die." We've been waiting since 1958 to win the German League again. We're still hoping! Take care, TonyRead More...

Hi ST, You're right, it's very mild here for the time of year, but it usually gets much colder towards the end of January. A couple of winters ago we were down to around minus 15°C which is pretty cold, and my Koi Pond had something like 8" - 10" of ice on top (I have a couple ice free devices to keep a small area free of ice). The thing is, that we're used to heavy winters here. I think that the coldest I've ever experienced was getting on for minus 30°C in January 1985. I've lived here...Read More...
