I purchased a T1 from GC and spent about two hours with it yesterday in my basement. I created two scenes: 1. Vocal and Acoustic Piezo for my Olson SJ; and, 2. Vocal, Crowdster Plus (channel 2 acoustic and channel 3 electric. I am very, very impressed with this unit. The T1 has essentially eliminated my pedalboard. I run the main out into my Boss RC-50 Loop Station and then from there to the L1 (Is this okay?). I have the electric side of the Crowdster Plus (awesome guitar!!!) set up with...Read More...
I'm not giving up on the T1 (but may exchange this particular one). Bill, I responded to your PM.Read More...

T1 & L1 Classic Combo -- Gig Report

After the long wait for the T1 last Tuesday, I had a chance to try it out in a live situation this weekend. The location was a small Farmer's Market in Huntley, IL. My standard rig is the L1 Classic with 2 B1's, SM58 through a TC Helicon VoiceLive for vocals, and three Taylors - 910, K65 12 string and T5 for electric chores. Prior to the show, I had spent a little time with the unit to become familiar with the controls, set eq's and efx for all inputs, and had set up a preset "Scene" in the...Read More...
So, do you see any advantages to running into the T1 first (form mic eq) and then out through the direct for the channel? That's what I'm trying at the moment.Read More...

mesa recording pre

Hi. has anyone had hands on use of mesa boogies recording pre with L1. can this unit work well with this system. I'm thinking about using boss GT PRO for effects through the recording pre for electric guitar and harp. if I use the T1 ToneMatch can the recording pre be run into chanels one and two on the L1 for left and right or would I want to just run mono.the ToneMatch would be used for vocals and acoustic guitar.Read More...

I really didn't want to like the new system.

alansteinberger
I took delivery yesterday of an L1 Model II system complete with T1 and all the trimmings. The Classics were serving my needs quite well and I had no use for effects, and I "knew" that any sonic improvement in the new system would be subtle at best. I did like the idea of shorter runs for the audio cables and the ease of tweaking trims while seated at the keyboard, so while I could see possible justification for the T1, mostly I just wanted it and the Model II for the benefit of any singers...Read More...
Hi Bill, Good thought. It never occurred to me to try zEQ for that brittleness. I just assumed that was a limitation of the original sample library. I'll be working with that same keyboard in the same room again in a week and will give it a shot. I have a feeling, though, that running true stereo would most help liven the sound. I don't think Yamaha was particularly concerned with mono compatibility in that generation of keyboards. AlanRead More...

Please clarify; one T1 into 2 L1's....yes or no??

I have posted several questions re. the L1 system and received massive assistance. Thanks, guys! My band recently bought 2 L1 Classic's with the intention of all 4 of us going through them (7 inputs used, line-up as follows: acoustic guitar with a preamp, double bass with a preamp, dobro with a preamp, fiddle through an SM57, plus 3 SM58's for vocals). Well, we've gigged with it and decided a T1 was required, to give us extra preset inputs and to apply reverb to all 3 mics. We bought a T1...Read More...

First Gig with the New "Digs" (L2+T1+4XB1's)

Took the leap yesterday and left my "legacy" Bose L1 behind ... showing up with only the new "stick", ToneMatch, and (4) B1's. As we say in the south ... "LAWD HAVE MERCY"!! The presets were right where they needed to be and easy to find ... of course, I'd read the book cover-to-cover 2X-3X before my system ever arrived (I recommend a thorough study prior to going "live" with the new products). CH1 - Audix OM5 CH2 - Taylor T5, although still needed my Baggs preamp to get the "punch" I need...Read More...

Just to Make Sure........

I have one of those dreaed low-ceiling (6'10") boat gigs tomorrow evening. Need to cover upstairs and downstairs deck for a period of time. I have a pair of powered EV SXA100's, but am considering running the L1-II with just the lower half of the radiator and one of the EV's as an extension.....My gut says just use the (2) EV's and deal with it for an evening....... Although it is not the preferred method, is there any risk in running the lower half radiator by itself in the L1-II, as others...Read More...
Too late. Just kidding, Bill. Thanks. Going to stay with the EV's for the evening, since finding out today that I am going to have to provide music for two decks all night, and I'm going to need 'head-level' throw in both instances. Since I have the power adapter, I AM going to use the T1 module for my mixer and effects into the SXA100+'s. So, I won't be totally Bose-less for the evening. Just hooked everything up, and it will be fine. I don't know how much thought has been put into...Read More...

Recording a Show with the T1

Matt Wahl
I just went to Best Buy and bought a USB cable (didn't have one on the road with me) and hooked up the T1, opened GarageBand and recorded a song. It's amazing! The recording is exactly what I played! I know that's the way it's supposed to be but I have never heard a recording of myself as accurate as this before. And since it plays back through the L1, I can use the playback to check levels, EQ, etc. How cool! Here is my recording question: I am playing a fabulous theatre next Wednesday and...Read More...

L2 EQ mixer settings without T1

My partner and I recently lost our L1 and all other pa equipment to theft. Because we have made our name (named top four alt-country in Orange Cnty CA. three years running) based on our amazing sound through the L1, there was no choice but to order the L2. But, like others, we have to wait for the T1. In the interim, we are trying to EQ through a Mackie mixer and having all the feedback issues we learned to not have to worry about with the L1. Are there any tricks you can suggest? Two vocal...Read More...

Tuner on T1

For the At-Bose guys: How accurate is the T1's tuner? How many "cents" are we talking here so I can compare it to many popular tuners. For users: What do you think of it? Have you been able to use it in place of your old tuner?Read More...
Same here. Normally use the Peterson Strobe. The T1 tuner is even quicker and steadier. Works great. Even prefer it over the Peterson. SteveRead More...

Trim on Model II input panel

When the T1 is connected does the trim on the base of the L1Model2 do anything? It seems as it is just for when the 1/4" analog input for those not using the T1. If that's the case, when the T1 is connected should it be put at zero or is it rendered inactive anyway?Read More...
Hi Sludgefactory, If you are using the T1™ and using only the ToneMatch™ (Ethercon) connection - the Input Trim, has no effect on the sound from the T1™ . I would keep it turned all the way down if not using it. If you are using the ¼ inch input, then the Input Trim is used to match the input signal to Power Stand. You *can* use a T1™ with the ToneMatch™ cable and have a second input through the ¼ inch analog input. If not using the ¼ inch analog input, I would set the Input Trim to zero as...Read More...

First 5 Gigs with modell2

Hi just thought I`d post my thoughts after my first week with the L1 with 2 Bass units.Firstly,as it arrived without the T1,I used it with a rack mixer without EQ, and a TC electronics FX unit. All 5 gigs were outdoors, some long, some wide...a few were restaurants, and one was a private party. I sing, play saxes and flute thru a Sennheiser wireless mic,and use largely self produced backing tracks. I really didn´t need reverb!!Seemed to muddy up the sound.Didn´t need to strain my...Read More...

Missing something…

I'm a keyboard player and singer, and use an iPod for breaks. The keyboard is a Yamaha PSR3000, another is a Kawai CP175, the mic is a Shure SM58. When my T1 came in today I was disappointed in the lack of keyboard presets, only four I think, and mine is not in the mix. I thought there would be a way to dial up more manufacturers and model numbers. Are there to be more, and if so do you know when or how? I guess in the case of anything being added on will require downloading them. And, I'm a...Read More...
That does help, and thanks so much, that's what I wanted to know. I'm ashamed I didn't catch it but I sure do thank you. Man, I tell you, this is Really a nice system! The ease of setting up and moving would be nearly enough to switch, but the sound is the really big kicker. No matter how easy something is to set up if you don't have the sound you're still nowhere. This is just great and it really does make you play and sound better. Thanks again.Read More...

Gig & Pix with L1/T1

resoralph
It was the hottest day this year in Germany when we played a small open air venue at the "Village" - a well known music club in Bavaria (recently Ten Years After played there as well as Iron Butterfly and Climax Blues Band - yes, they really still exist!). It was the first time we used the T1 together with our L1 classics. We already played lots of gigs with the L1 sytems and we had very satisfying experiences no matter how dificult the locations. It is the best system imaginable. Fast and...Read More...

Input trim

Hello all, I know this has been answered on this forum, but I can't find it. What is the recomended trim knob level setting on ch3 of a model 1 when using a T1 ?? Thanks in advance ! MikeRead More...
Tweaked mine up to 3 after starting at 2. Master Volume on T1 was at 12:00 and gain on channels no higher than 11:30, and volume felt right for solo guitar and vox. BTW, the input meters are a great add. They are a big help in setting channel trim levels...Read More...

You CAN get the new L1 without a B1

After trying several times I called again today. I was told I cannot order a new MII without a B1. Then I told the girl, who was very nice, that I know of several people who have - I was helped out with that info from this forum, thanks! She said she would have to look into it. I was put on hold, she returned and said the MII would not perform as designed but they would sell it without the B1. So, you can do it! I don't know if it helped that this was my 4th L1 system purchased since Nov. (2...Read More...
David, Yours is not the only one sold without the B1. Bose needs to get their act together. I ordered a T1 from M. Friend several months ago. Now they are saying August 10, but I have no reason to believe that after several other dates passed. I'm sure if I cancel that order and try to get one from Bose, they will put me at the end of the line, and it may take even longer to get one. I'm about ready to cancel everything, sell my existing Bose gear and start over. DonMRead More...

T1 PURGATORY

Since I have been pretty vocal about the problems that were encountered during my stay in T1 Purgatory, it is only fair that I let those who may be interested know that my sentence has been commuted and my pair of T1's have arrived. Hope all my former cellmates have equally good news....Read More...
Tony, all the presets listed above are already in the T1. I use the Shure Beta58 and a couple of Taylor presets. They've been reorganized a bit, as you can see by the list. But they work great. No doubt they will be expanding the set over time. Mary P.S. Hi ST!Read More...

Bummed - Bad T1

I mentioned this briefly Friday - thinking that maybe the unit needed some burn-in time, but I hooked the T1 up to my L1-II system this evening, after having it on adapter power previously.....I definitely have a defective unit. 4 times within 5 minutes, upon turning the main selector dial, the screen goes to blue, and the unit freezes up w/no audio. Have to turn it off and back on to get any response out of the T1. Let's just hope there is still inventory so I can get a replacement unit.Read More...

Strange T1 Delivery - Open Box Delivered

skillydally
I was very excited to get home yesterday as my T1 had been shipped and delivered. I knew I wouldn't have time to even turn it on and still won't until later tonight or tommorrow. However, my excitement was replaced by confusion when I got home and saw my package. The box was open! The factory seal had been cut, and there on my doorstep was an open box. Additionally, the plastic around the T1 had obviously been removed and retaped - the bag was torn. Now, I'm thinking, Bose would never ship...Read More...

Laptop into T1 with USB cable

Joelheck
I presently hook into my old system mixer with a Creative Labs USB to Behering PMX 3000 Powered mixer, which gives better sound than the Toshiba Laptop headphone out jack. When my T1 comes for the new L1 II that I purchased in Orlando last weekend, I should be able to connect my Toshiba Laptop, directly with a USB cable into the T1 and set to outputs to channels 3 & 4 ? It appears by default they go to "Master" but then how would I adjust the volume of the Laptop tracks, or adjust any EQ...Read More...

What Now?

I have been a Model I user for several years and have been very pleased with it's performance. I would love to decrease the weight of the base (getting older) and the Model II looks very promising. So, how do I exchange one for the other?Read More...
reveler, Classic L1s are still bringing good money on eBay. That light base is really nice, lighter than I had expected, easy to open up, and no locking mechanisms for the tower...very cool. The sound of course is superb.Read More...
