Two L1 Compact plus one T1 Tonematch

I have two L1 Compact systems and thinking about buying the T1 ToneMatch to improve the sound. I am not sure if it can be setup because T1 has only 1 output. Please help me to show the setup possible before I buy it. ThanksRead More...
Hi LQ, You can use the Aux system to send the microphone to both Compacts. Here are the notes. T1 ToneMatch® Audio Engine Aux Output Now there is a an issue though, there is no reverb on the Aux output. If you are running in a very large room and the Compacts are spread apart (more than 20 feet apart) to provide more coverage, then you approach all of this differently. Run everything MONO in a big room. You can connect everything to the T1® as before EXCEPT that you can ignore all the...Read More...

T1 Not Level When Attached to Mic Stand

hydroknot
Have attached a photo of my new T1 attached to a mic stand. You can see it is not level. The mic stand attachment is clamped firmly in place. The bracket arm is seated completely in the clamp. Anything I can do to get the T1 to rest in a level position? As an aside, the bracket arm acts as a lever. With the T1 on it there is a good bit of downward force on the arm where it meets the clamp, which probably accounts for the T1's tilt.Read More...
Unless your T1 mounting bracket is perfectly tight, you will get a bit of "lean". Did you use the cardboard "gauge" that came with your bracket to check the diameter of your mic stand? That helps get you really close. Then...use the TWO nubs on the clasp to adjust for the final fit. The first (edge) nub first, then if it's too loose, go to the second nub. When you snap the clasp over the nub, do it carefully, slowly to prevent breakage. I know its a hassle at first, but your bracket will...Read More...

T1 Audio Engine Reliability is Unacceptable

I had heard and performed on someone else's Bose L1 System, with T1 Tonematch engine, a few years ago. I was so impresses with the sound, I decided I would purchase one of my own when I was ready to begin playing out again. This past fall, I was finally ready, and purchased the system. But before I did, I did my due diligence, and read many, many critical reviews of both the T1 and of it's microphone stand. It seemed the T1 issues peaked in 2007, 2008 and 2009, and it seemed the T1 was "OK"...Read More...

Securing the T1® to the Microphone Stand Bracket

ST
Here are some tips for using the T1® with the Microphone Stand Bracket. Note: The bracket that sits parallel to the floor has a bevel on the top. The bevel should run down, facing you. If the bevel runs down away from you, the bracket is upside down and the T1 ToneMatch® Audio Engine will not sit properly on top of it. Hi Hydroknot, Thanks for asking. This was probably from one of these shows: Stage Layout for an Open Mic with 2 Compacts and 2 T1®s and what I had plugged in at any given time might vary depending on who was on the stage. Looking at the cables, this is probably what was connected at that moment.Read More...

Active B2, now that'ed be great!!

tablatom
As i use my L1's with a Roland TD20 kit live in a pretty loud wedding band, instead of having to buy 2 more B2's ( i have 2 already ) and 2 pac lites for true bigger gigs i'd love to have 2 active B2's. Then i could also use them with my Yahama DXR 15's. I think Bose would do well from an Active B2 as it has a great sound and is very portable. Many people with other "tops" would go for it i reckon. What say you Bose people?Read More...
The only problem I can present to your argument, (which I would also enjoy if they did) is keeping the portability. Being a passive sub, controlled by the base of the L1 systems, I'm sure that sheds a **** ton of weight. Who knows, maybe its possible to have two separate B2 models. It would help the L1 M1S users!Read More...

Help with setup

I've been running one L1 Model 1 and Tonematch with acoustic drum for quite some time. Our team is growing and I was wondering if I could get some input on setup. I will be running my L1 Model 1 with Tonematch and one L1 Model 1S with Tonematch. I play acoustic guitar and sing lead. I will be adding 2 backup vocalists, 1 acoustic guitar and keyboard. We are playing in a gym and have very little time to dial it all in. Thoughts on setup are appreciated as well as things I should watch for...Read More...

I am going to buy a L1 system.....BUT NEED ADVICE...

I am new to the forum, this will be a bit long winded so please bare with me as I need some advice..... I recently saw a band in Vegas using 2 x L1 speakers....not sure of the model but I was blown away by the sonic quality, volume, dispersion, etc etc. They were a 5 piece band that did pop, rock, country, covers in general. I thought the bass was a bit light, but understand the B2 solves that. I do not know if they were using an external mixer or Tone match.....The room was probably 36 ' x...Read More...

Did I Buy the correct Bose system to suit my needs?

hydroknot
3 weeks ago I bought two L1, Mod II vertical arrays and one B2 bass unit for my new hobby band from a Bose retail outlet in Columbia, MD. My thinking was that I would use the Bose gear as a PA connected to a Mackie ProFX16 mixer. I also want to connect to the mixer 4 vocal mics, 2 guitar mics, 1 keyboard and one drum kit. The drummer has his own mixer and will connect to the Mackie using one XLR cable. At the moment, all we have connected to the Mackie are the two Bose arrays, 5 vocal mic...Read More...

L1 Position

Outside performance?

Hi all, We have a gig on Saturday that we'll be outside for. It's going to be 90 degrees F and sunny. We're supposed to have some sort of cover for the stage, but I'm trying to plan for there not being one. I saw in the FAQ that the L1 can operate in up to 122 degrees F. I'm assuming I'll be OK with the Model II and a compact for several hours of performance? Thanks, ScottRead More...

Power Applied, Finally!

Haven't turned on the power to my pair of L-1's in a dog's age, but hooked it all up today and made a bunch of noise testing a Digitech RP500 (yuch) and reaffirming what a great decision it was to buy the Variax and podXt Live based on suggestions from Bose. Weirdest Thing

hydroknot
My L1s are connected to a Mackie ProFX16 mixer. I absent-mindedly left the power on to L1s and board after rehearsal last night. Noticed everything was still powered-up about 10 hours later. Didn't touch a thing. Connected my iPad to the board via RCA inputs. Played a song, but only one L1 was pumping out sound. Dead quiet from other one. Same when I connected a mic to the board. Couldn't find the cause. I swapped cables, mics, sound sources. Nothing worked, so I shut-down the L1s and the...Read More...
I've owned a number of Mackie boards, and they are notorious for failing (internal) ribbon cables. It can affect the channel inputs, main, and sub outputs (never had an aux out fail). Often, a power off/on brings them back, but eventually they will go completely dead. I replaced those ribbon cables myself on my last three Mackies. That is the first thing that pops into my head. Also, I find that leaving my PC on all night, often my Presonus Project firewire sound card will go dead and...Read More...

Has anyone tried this setup?

Hi all, Since I have a Compact and a Model II, I've been thinking of ways to best utilize them for our classic rock group. I play through a Boss GT-10 and the singer has a processor as well for the couple of songs he plays guitar on. My latest thought is that I could set up the Compact to be for the guitar modelers on one side of the drums and use the Model II for the vocals. I could use the Aux out of the T1 to feed the Compact. So, has anyone tried this? If so, what were the results?Read More...
Just wanted to respond again and post the results of this experiment. The Compact did pretty well with the guitar modelers. At times it was hard to hear the second guitar, but I think that has as much to do with the cheaper modeler our singer uses. Overall though, Things went very well. Our drummer said he had no issues hearing guitar or vocals, so I'm pleased with that. Hope this helps someone else out there. ScottRead More...

Looking for PA replacement for 5 piece classic rock band?

Hi CaptainZ, Based on what you've given us above. Four vocalists Mic's on the drums (kick and snare) No amps on stage. Going direct or through modelers for guitar, bass and keys. I'd go with the four systems (Model 1S, B2, T1®).
