Wireless Mic Experiences with L1M2

CityFolk
Anyone out there have any experience with this wireless mic adapter (or something similar)? It’s intriguing because you can plug in a transmitter into your existing dynamic mic and its receiver into your mixer. I don’t have any special long distance requirements, just tired of wrangling with cables. I’d never be more than 10 feet away from the L1, however, I still want quality sound from our Shure 58A Beta mics. Not sure if something like this would adversely “color” the sound.Read More...
@Julian8023 and @Chet thanks much for your replies. It’s so helpful to hear real world experiences with new technology like this especially wireless tech which could experience so many variables in a performance environment. I think I’ll make the plunge here shortly.Read More...

HOOKING UP EXTERNAL SPEAKERS TO SYSTEM

Is it possible to hook up an external monitor wedge or 15" main to this system? These would be passive speakers. I have the L1, Model II, B2 bass and Tone Match unit. Thank you.Read More...
Hi sndmn6, Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community. No. You need another amplifier to drive passive loudspeakers or monitors. There are no outputs on the L1 Model II or the T1 ToneMatch unit that will power a passive loudspeaker or monitor. You can connected powered monitors or loudspeakers to the T1 Master Output of Aux Output. Did you know the L1 systems were designed to be used without monitors? best wireless MICs for T8S and L1 M2

New to this world. Bought my new L1 model 2 with T8S. wondering what is the best wireless MICs . also one which can adv of the T8S presets. Mics are mainly for singing only. thoughts on Shure BLX288/PG58 if anyone used it. ThanksRead More...
I highly recommend the Xvive U3 wireless set. I've used it with either a Sennheiser e945 or a Shure Beta 58 and I couldn't tell any difference comparing to using an XLR cable. Its a digital set with built in battery that lasts more than 7 hours of continuous use. You can use it with any dynamic mic that you already have.Read More...

L1 Compact / S1 Features

Mike in Texas
I just saw this.. and I AM a Bose Guy, I am NOT a Peavey guy, BUT .. .. TWELVE drivers, 12" sub, 1200 watts, FOUR full channels, EQ, FX, integrated screen, walkaround app, line input/Bluetooth, mix out .. Wouldn't these features be fantastic behind a Bose Logo!Read More...
Oldghm, totally agree with you. I really love my L1 Compacts, they still impress me with the quality of sound and room coverage they produce. I also own a pair of EV Evolve 50s, they hit much harder than my Compacts, sound great for DJ application, but when I grab a mic and my guitar the Compacts and a T1 mixer is still my go to system. It would be really cool to see a bigger compact with onboard dsp and a few more channels.Read More...

2 nos Bose L1S , 2 nos T1 tone match ,Behringer X32, 1 no B2, 2nos B1

Hello Everybody, I have a show coming up and plan to use the subject mentioned equipment. I have already verified that if I use the Behringer directly without the tone match there is a loud hiss. I have to use the Behringer as the T1 tone match inputs are not sufficient for the band. I plan to use the 2nos L1s as individual right and left speakers. Besides the band the system will also be used for DJ. I would like to know what would be the best configuration for connections and settings for...Read More...
Hi mjferns, Sure, that should work. Or if there's room, put the L1 systems behind the band at one-quarter intervals. Pan each input hard to one L1 system, the closest one - not panned up the middle. For example - if the band takes up 20 feet (6 meters), put the L1 systems at 5 feet and 15 feet (1.5 meters and 4.5 meters). The L1 systems will be about 10 feet (3 meters) apart, and everyone should be able to hear themselves and each other. If you have concerns about feedback, see Microphone...Read More...

L1 Compact with Behringer XAIR12 digital mixer and a Proel NET12MA

Hi, We are a duo. I have just got rid of my old heavy PA system and am about to buy the L1 compact. I have a Behringer XAIR12 digital mixer and a Proel NET12MA FOH or Monitor if I want. I would use the Proel as a FOH and would plug it into the line out of the L1. The mixer, I would have 2 mics 2 acoustic guitars, an 8 string Uke and a stomp box plugged into that. I would then run a splitter XLR cable from the Main out L and R from the mixer into the 14" guitar input on the L1. I will mix...Read More...

Best way to connect L1 Model II to T8S

Just received my new L1 model II and T8S. I have only one L1 model II connected to Right channel. T8S has both XLR and 1/4 in main outs but L1 has only 1/4 inch. i have few 1s 1) what is the best to connect T8S XLR to L1 1/4 or t8S 1/4 to L1 1/4. 2) in my case , stage where L1 will be kept and where mixer is kept are approxmately 60ft apart. what is the max cable length without any issues people run between T8s and L1. 3) is L1 with B2 sufficent to fill room of 90 x 70 ft ? 4) As I am using...Read More...
Hi, Sri. Yes, to keep things simple you can pan everything up the middle including the stereo tracks. If most of your audience is close to the center of the room instead of spread out toward the sides, try panning the stereo tracks LEFT and RIGHT and panning the vocals hard to the side closest to where they are performing on stage. You might find that more interesting. Let's treat this second question as a new topic. Please see: Use reverb/delay for vocals? (Karaoke with T8S and two L1 Model...Read More...

Best wired and wireless mics with T8S

Hi SRI, Welcome to the Bose L1 world. There are many mics that are used with success with the various L1 systems, given time you will get many and varied opinions here. "I think" your choices should be those super cardioid and hyper cardioid mics from a maker that your are comfortable with. Resistance to feedback is a critical component when using the L1 as designed. Shure, Audix, EV, and others make excellent mics with these polar patterns at prices that most anyone can afford. L1M2, B2 Smell?

Hello everyone, Happy owner of a L1M2B2 system. Just recently took ownership after buying if off a friend who didntd use it all that much so it was essentially new. We use it for every jam and have only used it out of the house once. So in the jam space we only run vocals and kick through it. Kick is setup with the Beta52 preset, and a compressor, as the kick gate doesn't play nice with my current drum. So the issue is the B2 is now producing a smell from the front ports. It's seems to have...Read More...
Okay! First hand band practice with the returned B2. No smell from the sub. I got a follow-up email from the tech line and they said all Bose items returned for warranty are fully dismantled and if necessary parts are upgraded to the latest and greatest. Everyone I've spoken with said they didn't do any repairs, so the process of taking it apart and putting it back together resolved the issue. Sub working perfectly with no smell at all. Wonderful! Now that the sub has stopped stinking, I'm...Read More...

L1 model 2 powerstand firmware

Just bought L1 model 2 with B2 . wondering How to check firmware version on the stand from factory as 1.4 is the latest ..wondering if it is already at 1.4 or needs update.Read More...
Hi CityFolk, If you don't have a B2, you don't need a firmware update or a ToneMatch mixer to do an update. The L1 Model II power stand has been extremely stable. The only significant changes were in 2012 (support for the B2), and 2008 (support for a rare issue when updating firmware). Why is it i get feedback when i have the L1 behind me? I have to have a monitor as i have my L1 next to and just a little out front to avoid feedback. New Vs Used L1

I am thinking of buying a used L1M2B2 system. Other then the obvious blown speakers, sub, or cosmetics, are there other things I need to look out for? Hi Dell, Thanks for joining the conversation. That's a handsome bit of engineering and ingenuity. Thanks for sharing that with us. Here's a reminder to the community. Bose does not recommend mounting anything to the L1® Cylindrical Radiator®, the L1® Compact, or the F1 Model 812 and F1 Subwoofer. The Wallacher hanger was developed for the original L1 Classic and has not been tested for use with later models. STRead More...

T1 to L1 Model 1S and L1 Model II

Hi guys, I run several dj systems off of a single Bose t1 mixer. I use a whirlwind split 6 splitter box to send the t1 main out mono signal to up to 6 speakers or devices (typically two L1's) Of course I am running my systems in mono but that's my preference anyway. https://www.sweetwater.com/sto...6--whirlwind-split-6Read More...

Using 2 B1's and a single B2 with L1 M2?

i actually have an L1M1 and an L1M2 i use them both for outdoor vineyard type gigs. I have used BIG powered subs for that gig..(2 QSC 18s). i have full backing multi-tracks with hard hitting drums (i play bass on most of that gig) this has worked out well. I sometimes switch to live drums and simply mute that channel in my tracks. However, I have 2 B1s and a single B2. Have been wondering if they could handle the low end for such a gig... it's obviously outside and that kick and bass needs...Read More...

Compare BOSE L1-M2-B2 with EVOLVE 50

Here's hoping that this is a compliant question within this forum: I am a one-man band/keyboard player that needs high quality top and especially bottom for up to 200 people. Thanks Tom - your response and other similar ones, has me inching towards the L1. Best mixer for L1 Model 1S (not ToneMatch)

Good to read that you found something that works, and was cheap. I got my T4S from Bose direct, in one day. Loved it so much, I bought a T8S from Sweetwater, got it in one day! Bose "Stores" and GCs might not have had good stock on T4S & T8S Tonematches, as there has probably been a sudden demand for them, since the discontinuation of the T1. As for the Yamaha, you'll be fine, you'll never know what you're missing.Read More...

Is DIY AV for Hotel Ballrooms career ending?

I manage 2-4 company off site events per year (sales meetings, training). The cost of on-site AV services has increased dramatically, and I'm looking for an alternative. I just got a bid with the cost of 2 day hotel AV services having rental costs that are higher than purchasing basic equipment outright. With respect to those in the industry, the $1200/day AV techs at hotels have been poor (MIA, dead batteries, laptop output not connected to sound system...) We move the events around the...Read More...
