Hi Tom, Just an afterthought. In the Compact Owner's Guide there is a reference to using the extensions on page 5. As this has caused discussions and uncertainty in the past I'll mention it here. "Note: The two L1® Compact Extensions are identical to each other. Either one can be used on the top or bottom, but if one extension is used, both must be used". There is no need to use both extensions. You can use 1, 2 or none to satisfy your particular needs in different situations. Hope that...Read More...

Paul Schaefer's L1 Set Up

Today I had the privilege of visiting the David Letterman set and learning more about how Paul Schaefer is using the L1 Classic that you have seen beside him for years. The system is fed by a sub-mix of all of Paul’s keys and synths enabling him to hear himself clearly on stage. The band also has an in-ear monitor mix which enables them to talk among themselves and listen to songs as David Letterman is interviewing guests. There is also a printer attached to the laptop so they can print...Read More...

Creative L1 Compact Uses

Ok so it has been over a year since the release of the L1® Compact system and we continue to hear stories about the product being used from everything from military services to fitness classes. L1 Benefits Statement

Ken-at-Bose
Hello Everyone, We wrote this before we introduced our new approach to live music amplification. These words appear on many of the cartons in the L1 family of products. We thought it would be good to repeat these words here.Read More...
This is an example of some of the old "Gems" which are turning up since the introduction of the new forum software. The words are as true now as they were then. Here's an example. My wife had a birthday party in January and I set up the Compact+T1 so that I could play easily for our guests and be heard anywhere in our living room which is L-shaped and about 50m2. Due to illnesses and bad weather forecast (snow) the party wasn't too big an affair and I could have played without amplification.Read More...

L1 Compact Channel 1 Volume control

I'm a rookie Bose user, having just bought an L1 Compact. I plan to use it for calling to groups of Square Dancers, perhaps up to 40 dancers. I've begun to practice in the basement and notice that with channel 2 volume turned to about the 9:00 position, my laptop's music produces plenty of volume for my basement space. However, Channel 1 volume has to be turned past the 3:00 position before the microphone voice volume can compete with my basement level music. That does not leave a lot of...Read More...

L1 mod 2 with F1 812

I do a couple big parties a year, I have a couple questions. The room is approximately 100 ft wide by 175 deep. Stage about twenty five feet wide. I set up a L1 model 2 with B2 base units on each side of stage. Can I hook up my one F1 812 in the middle of the stage using the other output on my T1. We seat about 300 people at the event. The event is a dance party. I never used the F1 812 before. Do you think I need it with the two L1.Read More...
Hi Harvey, You're welcome. You can use an ordinary 1/4 inch (6.3mm) Tip-Sleeve instrument cable (guitar cable) from the T1 Aux to the F1 Model 812. This should work, but you will have a better signal to noise ratio and better noise rejection if you use a cable like the ones I showed in the pictures. STRead More...

Tinny Vocals

I have same problem with tinny vocal especially when adding effects, someone mentioned turning brightness down on effects but how do u do that on t1 please? Hi Nathcloud9, Okay - if the tinny sound is happening at slow volume too, then this is not an issue with the Cylindrical Radiator® outpacing the bass modules as can happen at very high volume. Please try: A wired microphone and a matching ToneMatch Preset on the T1. If there isn't a match use: Category: Vocal Mics Preset: Handheld Mics A different emulation (e.g., Shure Beta 58) on the Line 6 unit with the Shure Beta 58 ToneMatch Preset on the T1 Are the vocals still tinny? Great. Like this?Read More...
