another day..another wedding..the Bose L1c amazes again. Had a nice large outdoor wedding this past Sunday..only about 100 guests, but a very large open space. I only had to cover the ceremony audio...the DJ came over to visit as I was getting ready to push sliders.. mix position was way up a hill about 250ft back from the actual pastor position down the hill in front of a pond. The first thing the DJ noticed was that I didn't have 250ft of xlr... as I was using Sennheiser wirless from mix...Read More...

Paul Schaefer's L1 Set Up

Today I had the privilege of visiting the David Letterman set and learning more about how Paul Schaefer is using the L1 Classic that you have seen beside him for years. The system is fed by a sub-mix of all of Paul’s keys and synths enabling him to hear himself clearly on stage. The band also has an in-ear monitor mix which enables them to talk among themselves and listen to songs as David Letterman is interviewing guests. There is also a printer attached to the laptop so they can print...Read More...

Creative L1 Compact Uses

Ok so it has been over a year since the release of the L1® Compact system and we continue to hear stories about the product being used from everything from military services to fitness classes. I thought it would be a good idea to create an area to capture some of the more unique uses for the system aside from musical performances. So tell us; what types of creative uses have you found for the L1® Compact system? NeilRead More...
How about this for a creative use. Some have been known to call it a hat stand so .... (I know it's not a Compact but it seemed a bit silly to create a new thread just for this and the Modell II just happened to be set up) .... Maybe it will make someone smile in times where many feel that they have to go down into the basement to laugh. It reminds me a bit of ST's Avatar before the F1 joined the ranks. In case anyone's interested, the guitar is a Taylor T5 Standard in a black gloss finish. TonyRead More...

Hello Everyone, We wrote this before we introduced our new approach to live music amplification. These words appear on many of the cartons in the L1 family of products. We thought it would be good to repeat these words here.Read More...
This is an example of some of the old "Gems" which are turning up since the introduction of the new forum software. The words are as true now as they were then. Here's an example. My wife had a birthday party in January and I set up the Compact+T1 so that I could play easily for our guests and be heard anywhere in our living room which is L-shaped and about 50m2. Due to illnesses and bad weather forecast (snow) the party wasn't too big an affair and I could have played without amplification.Read More...

Upgrading to L1 Model 2 with B1

Hi Folks I have been using a pair of L1 Compacts for about four month and I am so impressed with them that I am seriously considering an upgrade to an L1 Model 2 with the B1 Bass Module. I bought one Compact just to see how I'd get on with the array system and a week later I decided to buy a second because I was that impressed with it, I didn't even consider a Model 2 at the time, I just opted for a second Compact. Bose L1 Compact vs Bose Mk11

Hi folks I am currently using a pair of Bose L1 Compacts with the Tonematch which is absolutely superb. I am a solo singer/guitarist working to pro backing tracks with the guitar and vocal live and I am very satisfied with my set up and the sound I am getting. T1 settings

Hi Can anyone suggest which T1 settings to use for vocals, acoustic guitar and stomp box/porch board please? I have 2x L1 compacts and a model 2 with B2. 90% of the gigs I do are with 1x L1c and tonematch. L1c on a chair with one extension. I sit on a chair to sing and play acoustic guitar while tapping a homemade "electric floor tile" with my foot. Shure Sm86, Gibson j200 and j45, piezo on a floor tile. Hi Bob, For the stomp box Attenuate means to reduce, so we're carving away the sounds we don't want. I would start here: The Level is - 10.0 (minus ten). We're removing sound - turning down the tapiness. Freq is 150. The simulator I have won't do exactly 150 Hz (that's why it says 151). There's nothing exact about this. So you can move this value up and down. Width is 2.00 oct The simulator I have won't do exactly 2.00 oct (that's why it says 199). This means we're reducing the sound in the...Read More...

L1 1S thinking of purchase

Hello, I am a female vocalist who sings to backing tracks. I mainly sing in WMC and social clubs, but also care homes and hotels. I had a setup up of 2 Ev ZX4 speakers and a Dynacord Powermate 1000, but wanted to get something more lightweight. I went to a few music stores and more than once I have been told that the best thing for me would be the Bose L1 1S with B1 bass. I understand that Bose claim it is suitable for audiences up to 300, and I would never be performing for more than that -...Read More...

T1 scenes

The Saint
I've had my L1 MII, T1 and B1 for around 4 years now and love it. I use it for electric and acoustic guitar, plus my vocals. I use an amp simulator for the electric guitar and when I need acoustic for the next gig, I've just gone into channel two (which I use for all my guitars) and changed the settings and EQ. I've now decided to save these settings using the scene facility. Yes, I know, it's taken a while for me to get wise on that...!! I have several acoustics, all with different style...Read More...

Bose Compact using both channels

Hi Bob, Thank you for joining the Bose Pro Portable PA Community. Yes, you can use the T1 Preamp outs for recording. Please note - these are post-trim only. Sales advise

I apologize if this is not the correct forum, but I see no sales contact information. We are a dance competition company. Our setup is pretty basic. We play music that is given to us by the dancer as they perform on stage (these can be CD's or .mp3). The venues (always indoor auditoriums) normally hold 800-1000 people, but the audience is normally around 600 people. I was looking at your L1 system and thinking of buying two, but was unsure if it would work for us. Currently, we place two...Read More...
Hi StarLand, Thank you for your interest in Bose Portable PA speakers. I agree with ST that the F1 is best if you need to project sound down (or up). Addressing questions 1) and 2) Regarding the capacity to fill your venues I have had success in venues the size you describe. There are a couple of technical reasons that the F1's might perform better than your existing setup. The Flexible Array has some of the properties that the L1 approach uses to cover more area without being louder up...Read More...

Monitoring Questions - L1® Model II

While I'm here I had question about monitoring. My set up is often solo with just vocals and backing track. I do swing, lounge and jazz music so it's perfect. I do feel that for most gigs that I need to be a good 8ft away to the side to push volume as much as want without feedback though. L1 Compact to external speakers

Tone Match Noise Gate

Good afternoon forum. Just a very simple question! L1 with F1 subwoofer, but using Aux output

Backstory--- I just recently sold two of my B1s (for the third time), which as a reminder, only leaves me one B1 per L1, which I tried once with only one F1 and did not like it, so went back to 4 B1s + 1 F1 sub. I took for granted how good the B1s really were, especially when using the T1. But, decided to try another F1 Sub, resulting in two F1 Subs, which is why I don't need 4 B1s (just two). I am a big believer in the L1 having a B1/B2 hooked up. I see people all the time try and get subs,...Read More...
