reversing the L1 unit

Hi, We reversed the L 1 base unit so that the access to the controls is in the front and easier to reach. Will this have any effect on the sound system? This move faces the speaker tower to the rear of the trio. We tried it and it seems as though the unit sounds the same. Advise please. golferRead More...

L1 Compact System questions.

I'm already hearing a lot of what I take to be misinformation. It looks to me like the L1 Compact is a true line array but I've heard people say that it isn't so I'd like to confirm that it is. I'd also like to know if the speakers are the same ones used in the larger L1 systems and if they are not, I'd like to know their diameter as some are claiming they are smaller. Some people are saying that there is no woofer in the base. I'd like to confirm that there is one. I'd also like to know if...Read More...

downloading original Tonematch presets

Having recently taken delivery of an L1 2 with Tonematch, I tried to download some additional Tonematch presets from the Bose site. In the process all the original presets were wiped leaving only the new one. I tried to restore the factory settings as in the instructions but nothing changed. Then I tried several times to download the original presets from the Bose site, using the installer provided, but only the items contained within the installer would download. The 'all presets' file...Read More...
G Andrew, It is definitely possible to restore the original presets. While you have the L1 Updater tool running there are four possible places to put T1 Tonematch Presets. The first one is called "T1 Tonematch Presets". These are the ones that you never want to touch (going foward of course). You will need to download the original ones again from here: http://www.bose.com/downloads/...onematch_presets.zip Once you have that saved to your desktop, you can re-upload them into the "T1 ToneMatch...Read More...

Humming noise on L1 Model II

Hi Bose-Team, I am going a little crazy because of my problem: I just got a Bose L1 Model II with tone match - and kept my old B1s. After setting up the powerstand with the speakers I noticed a humming sound comming from the speakers. I treid different plugs, checked the volume on stand being at low, connected tone match and B1s, but even after disconnecting it, the humming noise still was there. It is not too loud - but my old L1 classic did not make these sounds. Of course, there is always...Read More...
Dear Samjones, The original issue that you discuss, the hum from the speakers, could be for several different reasons. One could be the added noise floor from adding the T1 to you system, it can simply not be as quiet as a basic L1 plugged in and turned on, with nothing plugged into it. The other issue that could have been happening was a ground loop issue. When two pieces of music equipment are plugged into different wall sockets they can be on different circuits and cause a 60hz cycle hum.Read More...
