Use descriptive words in the title of your request: for example, "Help with ToneMatch presets". Tell us which model L1 system you are using: Classic, Model I, Model II, Compact, PackLite. Supplying the first six digits of your serial number will allow us to identify the model if you're unsure. Tell us as much detail about the situation: what kind of venue, what kind of set up on stage, etc.Read More...

Hi, fil. I'm sorry I cannot reply to your question in French. Connect the stereo outputs of the Yamaha MG10XU to the RCA inputs of the L1 Compact. Hi Donny, Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community and thank you for the interesting question. Congratulations on getting your L1 Model II with B1. Your L1 Model II is a single input powered loudspeaker. Since it is just one loudspeaker it is a mono device. Your Yamaha MG 06X has stereo outputs. Here is how you can approach this. Connect the wireless microphones to the Yamaha input channels 1 and 2. Set the Stereo/Mono switch to Mono. Connect the laptop to the Yamaha inputs 3 and 5 - the...Read More...

Hi Michael, Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community. We don't know what's at the other end of the cables from the House PA. I would use a cable like the one shown below to connect the T1 Master Output to one of the House PA cables, DO NOT use a splitter to connect to both cables. Does that help? STRead More...

T1 Tonematch shutting down and blue screen

I´ve using the T1 for a few years now and have been very happy with the Bose system, however, a couple of months ago, the T1 started shutting down during gigs. I put it down to a low mains voltage problem, (not uncommon where I live!), but the problem became more frequent, and now all I get when I power it up is a blue screen, with no writing, and certainly no sound.. I´m assuming my T1 needs major surgery, so my question is, where do I send it....I live in the south of Spain, but would be...Read More...

L1 Model II, can I use it for my vocals in a 16 piece big band

Hi Amy, Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community. I'm sorry for not replying sooner. A big band can be loud or very loud depending on the size of the audience. It would be helpful to know more about your shows. How large is the audience you are trying to reach? How big are the venues where you are performing? Is there a separate PA system for some or all of the performers in the big band or are they all running without amplification? Thanks, STRead More...

Hi Olav Gudnason, Thanks for your patience. It's taken some time to drill down and get more information for you. Looking at this email from Bose, it's clear the sender thought you were talking about an L1 Compact. And if you had an L1 Compact, the information you received would be applicable. Let's talk about your L1 Classic. The L1 Classics were in production from 2003 to 2007. Unfortunately, Bose no longer does repairs on the L1 Classic (or L1 Model I) systems. L1 Recommendation for 17 piece big band + vocals

I am interested in using L1 system components (Model II towers for PA and Compact for monitors) with my 18 piece big band, primarily because of light weight and compact size. My big band is composed of 5 saxes, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, Bass, Guitar, Drum kit, Keyboard, Vocals. Mic placements are 2 Vocalists, 6 horn soloists, and 6 mic drum mic kit thru an Allen & Heath passive mixer. You can see a visual of our band at www.azdanceband.com . We produce a lot of volume unamplified, but we...Read More...

adjusting top & bottom end on backing tracks in tonematch 8 channel 9 and 10

I am running backing tracks through my tonematch 8 mixer (channel 9 and 10). I would like to know how to do 2 things: make adjustments like more top end as it is a bit basey be able to adjust volume separately as you can with standard channels. Is it a matter of sending channels 9 & 10 to one of the channels 1 - 8 and how would I do that? Thanks :)Read More...
Hi Suzette, Thanks for writing. Short answer: Please connect your backing tracks to channels 1 through 8. The Aux inputs 9/10 can't do any signal processing The Aux inputs 9/10 can't be re-routed. Background Bose engineered the T8S ToneMatch mixer to have eight full-function channels and two Auxiliary inputs. The Aux inputs 9/10 are routed directly to the Main Output. You can use the Pan and Level adjustments accessible through the PAN/AUX menu. There are no changes to routing, or signal...Read More...

Using an external mixer ( not ToneMatch T4S). Should it be unpowered or powered?) Where would I plug it in?

I have a new Li Model II with B2 bass mod. Advise needed on a mixer. powered or Unpowered? where would it plug in to not damage the unit? I have a Tone Match 4 as well. Learning curve for this 68 year old is too much for me. A simple mixer with built in reverb would work for two vocals and acoustic guitars. Edit Subject: Previously "Using an extermal mixer ( not Tone match4). Should it be unpowered or powered?) Where woul I plug it in?" Bose Pro Community AdminRead More...
Hi, Joe R. Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community. Before I get to your questions, let me make a couple of suggestions to demystify your T4S. While the T4S has lots of capability beyond "a simple mixer with built-in reverb," you can ignore anything you don't need, and then the T4S is no more difficult to use than a simple mixer. I many respects, it should be simpler when you get to know it. Here's what you can do. Call Bose Support in the morning, and they will walk you through how to set...Read More...

Sounds change depending on the venue and crowd capacity.

My problem is that when we do a sound check, the room is empty, and then once the people arrived and there maybe say 100 people, the people's bodies tend to absorb the treble out of the system and the whole system becomes very basy and the top end is reduced, what can you recommend to a just so that we can have the Clarity that you get when the room is empty. 2. Can you recommend to use either MIDI files or MP3 files do? MIDI files work as good as MP3s on on the Bose L1 model 2? My brother...Read More...
Hi, Graham; Thanks for the interesting question. Yes, this can happen regardless of the sound system you're using. You can do your sound check and anticipate the effect the audience will have on the sound. Use the zEQ to make things brighter than you prefer. OR Do your sound check and adjust the zEQ to fine-tune and compensate after people arrive. I don't have any recommendations here. MIDI and mp3 are two different technologies that defy comparison (like apples and oranges). MIDI files...Read More...

Running 2 L1 compacts of Tonematch T1

Hi... Today i struggled for the first time at a gig whilst i tried to get more sound out of my setup. I have a tonematch T1 and an L1 compact. Gearwise iam using an SM58 Vocal Mic, Martin DCX1E electro acoustic guitar snd a logarhythm mk3 stomp box. Hi, Maelor Hughes; Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community. That's no fun. Let's not have you struggle at gigs. Please tell us about the gig. How many people were in the audience? Difference between old 'bigfoot' and newer profile power base

What are the technical differences between the original 'foot' and the new smaller one. Ie: same or similar power output; interchangeability in use? I'm looking at combining an old one with a newer one. It still does it's job, but worried about any conflicts. Can one put the columns of either generation in either 'foot' for example.Read More...
Hi, John Chesher. Yes. You've got it. Yes. Yes - don't mix up the columns. There are labels on the back of the L1 Model II Cylindrical Radiator® sections. However, I use colored tape. It's easier to spot on stage. I also put some tape on the carry bags. That means I don't have to look inside the bags if I'm just taking one system out to a gig. STRead More...
