Use descriptive words in the title of your request: for example, "Help with ToneMatch presets". Tell us which model L1 system you are using: Classic, Model I, Model II, Compact, PackLite. Supplying the first six digits of your serial number will allow us to identify the model if you're unsure. Tell us as much detail about the situation: what kind of venue, what kind of set up on stage, etc.Read More...

Reduced sound when using Tone match with L1 Compact - need help

Hi there. I'm a singer/guitar player using the Tone Match with the L1 Compact. I cannot get the same volume and clarity in the vocals without feedback when using the Tone Match vs. just connecting my mic directly to the L1 vocal input. I'm using a TRS balanced cable to connect the Tone Match to the L1 compact. I have 3 vocal mics and 1 guitar running through the Tone Match. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!Read More...

About the position of an L1 compact in an open stage

First of all, please forgive my poor English. Now, recently I bought one L1 Compact and one T1, - I'm very happy for this - and I use them in an open auditorium in Mexico City. When I read for the first time the generals of this equipment I was aware that the recommended use was indoors, and audiences for about one hundred persons. But surprisingly the L1's power and quality of sound was enough for almost three hundred persons on a stage that has no walls around, just the ceiling. The...Read More...

L1 compact suddenly started playing at 1/3rd previous volume

SkiptonTango
Hi Can you help. I have a 4 month old L1 Compact that I have been using once a week to DJ Tango events in a 100 person ballroom. This week, the sound is suddenly massively reduced. Where I was previously pleased to have the volume knob at 2.5/3; I now have to play at around 10 to allow people to hear. Can you help, or does this sound like a warranty issue. If the latter, please can you advise who I call (I am based in the UK). Kind Regards DaveRead More...

L1 Model 2 Power Stand No Sound after failed Firmware Update

I have an L1 model model 2 with tone match. Last night i did and update of the Firmware, both of the ToneMatch and The L1 Model 2. I appears however that the L1 update was interrupted. I took the system to a memorial function today but to my dismay I couldn’t get sound from the L1 Model 2 and the ToneMatch says that the power stand is not connected. I’ve tired several times to do a power cycle, re-download and redo the update but it has totally failed. Please help I am in Zimbabwe. I had...Read More...
Hi Nick I'm still waiting for your assistance. I haven't had any joy from Solution Center. While I was waiting for this to be sorted I got my sister to buy another L1 Model 2 PS, UK version this time around since I'm building another set. Transpose Feature on Tuner on ToneMatch Unit

I've had my system for about 3 years and I'm still learning about it's features. In the tuner mode, I see a selection for "transpose." There are the following options to choose: bb, b Normal (default), #, ## (what do these mean?). How does the transpose feature work? I was hoping to be able to transpose my guitar from standard tuning to D tuning by just pushing the select button. Can this be done? If so, how? I fooled around with this feature and got the transpose section to register a D...Read More...
Hello, Jim. Thank you for joining the Bose Pro Portable PA community. Using the Transpose mode does not change the sound of your guitar. It changes the display of the Tuner. For example: when you are in the bb mode (full tone down) when you tune the low E string to E on the T1® display, you are actually tuning to D. The same applies to the rest of the strings. Here is the documentation. This capability was introduced after the T1® was launched so this explanation is not in the T1® Owners...Read More...

T1 ToneMatch not working

Hello, I have a few L1 model II systems and 2 T1 ToneMatch mixers. Just the other day, I plugged a ToneMatch into the L1 via the Cat-5 cable for power and signal, flipped the switch, the lights came on and before I could play anything through it, it went blank with no lights and a blank display. I tried my other ToneMatch with the same L1 and cable, and the other one works fine. I noticed when the broken one is on, the entire LCD screen flashes very faintly every 4 seconds. I added a video...Read More...

Hi bones4fido, Thank you for joining the Community. We engineered the T1® channel 4/5 for applications like this - to accept a two channel output from a line-level device like a mixer. Note: Do not connect the speaker outputs of a powered mixer to the T1®. You could damage the T1® or the mixer, or both. Connections If your mixer has balanced outputs , then for best results, use balanced cables to connect to the T1® Channel 4/5. At the T1® end of the connection you will use two 1/4 inch...Read More...

BOSE L1 Compact Volume Problem

Been extremely happy with my L1 Compact for 10 years. However, I am now experiencing the following problem: The output volume (when the RCA or 1/8" input is used) suddenly and dramatically INCREASES IN VOLUME to become unbearable. The volume remains too loud even when turned down to the lowest setting. I notice this occurs usually after 15+ minutes of use. Also, when this happens - touching the volume dial will result in a noticeable and brief static sound as the dial is touched or moved.Read More...
HI Mars Wu, Thank you for joining the Community. I am sorry no one has gotten back to you sooner. From your description of the sudden increases in volume, this may be a hardware problem. Bose L1 1S(with Tonematch) - connecting external mixer -powered or unpowered?

Hi, I have a potential gig situation coming up where I may be asked to connect an external mixer to my Bose L1 1S. Scanning the forums this comes up a lot but I need a definitive answer on how I should do this. Can I plug an external mixer into ch 4/5 of the tonematch mixer and does it matter whether the mixer is powered or unpowered? Or should I just plug the mixer into the analog port on the power stand. My thinking is that if the mixer is powered I should go into the power stand, and if...Read More...

A1 amp sounds like a zipper when turning power off

my A1 amp about 9 months old being used to power a B2 cabinet is sounding like a zipper when I turn the power off. I started turning the A1 power off separately from the rack when I noticed it popping all by itself without having any audio a few weeks ago. I removed the other device a DBX crossover to make sure it wasn't that. You can confirm my suspicions that the amp is going bad though. Thank you.
