Use descriptive words in the title of your request: for example, "Help with ToneMatch presets". Tell us which model L1 system you are using: Classic, Model I, Model II, Compact, PackLite. Supplying the first six digits of your serial number will allow us to identify the model if you're unsure. Tell us as much detail about the situation: what kind of venue, what kind of set up on stage, etc.Read More...

T8S to S1 static noise.

I am finding it very difficult to overcome static noise and hiss when coming out from my T8S to a S1 speaker. The noise lever is very low until I increase the sound level past the 50% point. Volume increases on the S1 volume beyond 75% is basically too noisy to use. I am using Van Damme Quad core microphone xlr cables out of the T8S to the S1 speaker. Less noise is being received when coming out of the T8S from the 1/4 inch analogue output. Any suggestions or reasons for this happening?Read More...
Hi, D. You won't do any damage, but if you turn the S1 Pro volume much higher than the settings shown you may hear an excessive hiss (the static sound you described). Although at higher volume levels you probably won't hear the hiss because the music will be loud. If you see the signal light on the S1 Pro turn solid red, turn down the volume on the S1 Pro. L1M2/T8S Bracket & Cable Included???

I just purchased an L1 Model 2 with B2 and T8S A bracket to mount the T8S to the loudspeaker was not included? Please tell me this bracket exists and should have been included. I would even accept, but not understand at this price point, if it's not included but available for purchase. If a Tone Match Cable from the T8S to the Power Stand isn't included can I buy one and use it instead of a TRS? Does...Read More...
Hi, Mumblin Blues. Thank you for joining the Bose Portable PA Community. Congratulations! You're correct. There is no bracket to mount the T8S to the L1 Cylindrical radiator (the tower). No bracket exists. It would not be feasible given the size and weight of the T8S. The T8S and T4S have a 1/4" mounting hole. Please see this article for ideas. Input Sine Wave Quality

I would like to use my L1 Compact in outdoor venues where 120VAC is not available. I would like to use a "power pack" consisting of a battery and inverter. I know there are a variety of inverter circuits which can produce anything from a square wave to a pretty accurate sine wave. Does the converter in the L1C care about the quality of the input AC sine wave? Is there a specific technical requirement on input harmonics? And, ideally, can anyone recommend a power supply that has been shown to...Read More...

2007 L1 Model 1 Cutting Out

My 13 year old L1 Model 1 has begun cutting out at certain venues. If I turn it off and back on, it works for a while, then cuts out again. The concerning thing is, it only happens at certain venues. I need help! Thanks, Marc CollinsRead More...
Hi, Marc. I'm sorry you're having trouble with the L1 Model I sound cutting out. Does the volume drop to nothing and then resume by itself? Try playing some music through the system and then unplug the blue B1 speaker cable from the power stand. The system should go silent and then come back (sounding different). Then plug the speaker cable in. The system should go silent and then come back (sounding normal). Is the sound cutting out you described like that? If so, you may have a problem...Read More...

Bought a Model 2 w/tonematch and I cannot get it working. What else do I need?

I am frustrated tonight trying to get the Model 2 going. I live in rural Canada and it is a long drive to any city. I opened my T4S box and there is one cable only. 1)Question: Do I need another cable for a firmware update? 2)I watched and tried all the videos advice: Do I need a separate power cable(not included) for the model 2..according to the video I do not. ?? 3) The set up I require is for piano vocal; or guitar vocal: What is wrong with what I am doing to get any sound whatsoever...Read More...

802 system controller with powered mixer (SoundLab)

I'm a PA novice and have been given an old pair of 802 speakers with 802-c system controller, and an old powered mixer to use with them. The loudspeakers work well but I'm aware that I should use the 802-c to equalize the sound. My problem is that I'm not sure how to connect the 802-c with the powered mixer, since I figure it would usually be used with a separate mixer and amp. The powered mixer is a 12-channel SoundLab PMX-1252D. There's no manual and it's so old I can't find one online...Read More...

Using multiple systems together

I have an LII with a tonematch 4 and a subwoofer. I am moving my system into a permanent space that is 17 and a half feet wide and 28 feet long. I would like to create a true stereo line array for the room, with enough inputs for at least three acoustic guitars, three electric guitars, a bass guitar and three microphones. I would like the system to double as my sound system for a screening room coupled with a projection TV. Can I/should I replace the LII with two LI's or compacts (to be...Read More...
Hi DaveS, Thanks for the interesting question. I'm sorry not to have gotten back to you sooner. Let's check in on a couple of points. It sounds like you plan to your set band and the sound systems on the 17.5-foot wall facing the long dimension of the room. Please confirm. Do the acoustic guitars have built-in preamps? If they have volume/tone controls, they do. If not, will you have external processors for the acoustic guitars? For the electric guitars and bass guitar, will you have...Read More...

Bose l1 Model 2 analog base volume setup using the new Bose T8s

Hi St. I have been using my Bose L1 Model 2 systems with the new Bose T8s & T4s mixers for over a year very happy. Question 1:- Based on the video provided when setting up the microphone gain on the T8s the master is set around 10 o'clock and trim around 3 o'clock. where do you setup the volume on Bose L1 Model 2 base analog channel? Current setup - I have been setting my master volume and trim at 12 o'clock and adjusting individual volume accordingly. (sometimes I experience clipping).Read More...

Bose ToneMatch via USB Connection Error

I have been trying to connect my Bose ToneMatch via USB to use as an interface with Studio One. I am getting the attached error message and can’t seem to resolve the issue. Any help would be appreciated. See attached screen shot.Read More...
Hi, Matt LeSeur, Thanks for all the additional information. Okay. The T1 is a mono device so even though it can send and receive two channels, playback will always be mono. If you can play audio in YouTube, the T1 USB connection is working. That's to be expected because the T1 is a mono device. Okay - I think the issue is a mismatch of the bitrate. The T1 is 48 kHz and you can't change that. So you have to change Studio One to 48 kHz. I don't have Studio One so I can't tell you how to change...Read More...

Hi BaerrJan, Thank you for the picture. I understand the challenge now. Let's focus on this. Yes, this is probably the best way to get the sound out to the room. You can connect the T1s together using the Aux output - and send the combined signal to the L1 Compact behind you. Do you have one open channel on one of your T1 mixers? Let's say you do, and T1 #1 Main Output connects to T1 #2 spare channel (e.g., channel 4) On T1 #2 set up each channel so it is routed to Aux. I would set these up...Read More...

Hi, baldmusician. If you connect the signal source for the second L1 to channels 1 or 2, you can use the channels 1 or 2 LINE OUTputs as source for the wireless guitar transmitter. Depending on the wireless receiver, you can probably connect the receiver output to the third L1 - channel 1 or 2 input. Set the ToneMatch Preset to 00. Note: There is no LINE OUT for channels 3 or 4. Here is an article about various ways to use the inputs and outputs on the L1 Model 1 or L1 Classic power stand.Read More...

Hi Donny, Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community and thank you for the interesting question. Congratulations on getting your L1 Model II with B1. T1 Tonematch shutting down and blue screen

I´ve using the T1 for a few years now and have been very happy with the Bose system, however, a couple of months ago, the T1 started shutting down during gigs. I put it down to a low mains voltage problem, (not uncommon where I live!), but the problem became more frequent, and now all I get when I power it up is a blue screen, with no writing, and certainly no sound..
