Use descriptive words in the title of your request: for example, "Help with ToneMatch presets". Tell us which model L1 system you are using: Classic, Model I, Model II, Compact, PackLite. Supplying the first six digits of your serial number will allow us to identify the model if you're unsure. Tell us as much detail about the situation: what kind of venue, what kind of set up on stage, etc.Read More...

Hi, I have observed that my L1 Model II output volume is low. Please, what may be the issue with it. I also observe a whirring sound from the power stand (like a fan) the moment the volume is turned up, is this likely the reason for my low volume issue. Thank you. Bernard.Read More...

Feedback with Martin Performing Artist and Shure mic with Harmony Singer pedal

I too am having feed back problems. I cant increase the volume control on the Bose for the guitar input past the 50% level without having severe feedback. I am using a Harmony Singer stomp box. Could that be part of the problem? What if I adjust the Gain control on the Harmony Singer will that help? I am sitting behind the Bose and off to the left and playing a Martin Performing Artist Guitar. My Mike is a Shure SM58. Please adviseRead More...

ToneMatch Preset for Ribbon Mic

I want to use my T1 ToneMatch to mix a Royer R10 passive ribbon mic to Logic Express for studio recording. I also want to use the T1 to mix the R10 to my Bose L1 system for live gigs. I'm using the R10 ribbon mic to get my electric guitar amp into the live mix. Is there a good preset for this mic? If not, what settings do you recommend on the T1? Feedback Solutions?

I am a keyboard player/vocalist fronting a trio with 2 other vocalists (guitar and drummer...both of whom use a separate PA). My Roland KB (FP-7F) has a variety of mixer-like functions (mic reverb/harmony type & levels), EQ, master gain, etc.). I use an SM-58 mic directly into the KB's 1/4" mic port and out to the L1's channel 2 enabling both keys and vocals/harmonies. Since we play in smaller venues, I am often unable to have the L1 a sufficient distance behind me in any position thus...Read More...

L1 ll stand heating

silly question maybe, but it’s the first time I switch off my L1 model 2 !! My partner has always done this so far. After running for about 6 hours the top of the base (behind the handle) seemed very hot to me. Not enough to fry an egg on, but hot. I’m probably just worrying for nothing but would like to know roughly how hot the base can get after a long run. Thanks for your helpRead More...

T1 audio cuts out.

I use the T1 with L1 model II, or a Compact depending on the situation. T1 is 8 years old. Recently after playing for 10 to 20 minutes audio disappears. If I turn it off and wait a few minutes it will work again. Has happened repeatedly. I think T1 is the problem because the channel 1 trim light is red during restart, with nothing in the jack and trim = 0. Also some of the internal indicator lights don't work, and the selector switchs feel worn and don't really click. What is the fee for...Read More...

L1 Model II, replace just the amplifier?

Thanks for your time, I hope everybody's treating you like a human being today! The L1 Model II is magical, we bought to of them and had great success with our last large choir / band performance in December. We left the speakers to be used by the church we were partnering with at the time, and in late February one of the amps apparently died suddenly, doesn't output signal and LED shows clipping regardless of input. Yuck. :) How do I just replace the power stand? And quickly, we actually...Read More...

L1 Model 11 Power Stand, T1 Tonematch Updates and Scenes/Presets

I have been trying to update my system for a week. I am so frustrated I could scream. I have followed all the directions, read as many forums as I could find, and almost threw my laptop out of my window a few times. My husband (and music partner) usually sets the Tonematch, but I am the computer person in the family...so I have been tasked with this job. The last time I updated it was pretty simple. I also had no problems updated our QSC Touchmix 16. I would actually love to speak with a...Read More...

How do I add a floor monitor to the L1 compact with the Tonematch mixer?

Hello, I'd like to add a floor or personal monitor to my L1 Compact. How do I connect - which cables are necessary - and which outputs do I use? The Master on the Tonematch currently feeds in to the base of the L1Compact. Thank you!Read More...
Hi, This can depend on what the monitor requires, but it's a safe bet to use a TRS ('two rings') balanced cable. Thanks, ChrisRead More...

Hi Tazz a Man, Assuming this is a series V or VI, make sure the dip switch on the right side of the input panel is set to Full Bandwidth. t1 tone match aux out put

hi bose, unable to get an fx signal out thro the aux output. i havegone to aux setting and selected post.... irun it thro an l1 compact totally impressed with them bothRead More...
Hi Alastair, This is certainly not normal. Though, I would recommend testing this with effects other than reverb, just to be 100% sure of what you're experiencing. The one limitation to the AUX output is that it will not output any applied reverb. If you're truly not hearing any effect from AUX when set to post, there is certainly an issue. If this is the case, please contact us by phone at 877-335-2673. Thanks, ChrisRead More...

Mixer to l1 input

Recently had a friend use an insert cable to y together the 1/4" outputs of a small yamaha mixer into the input of an L1s (trs) : Cheap Hosa brand repacked as livewire trs to two ts, clearly marked tip and ring. I cried foul and I was mocked and ridiculed for being wrong. I would like an expert technical explanation of the pros and cons of this connection. Worried friend is unteachable or I am wrong minded here. Please set us straight.Read More...
Hi Chuck, Using a 1/4" TRS to dual 1/4" TS can be problematic with this configuration. The outputs could reach their current limit. Worst case, this could damage the outputs (over time) of the mixer. Best case, you'll get some amount of signal loss. Also, there is no purpose to doing this, as the L1 is a strictly mono system. You can use one of the two outputs on the mixer instead, with a single 1/4" connection (L or R from the mixer).Read More...

Save parameter changes

With help from Bose Australia, I have been able to connect to the system, update the firmware and view the settings. I found the parameters (saved scenes) and I would like to increase the input gain for 2 new microphones. I was able to do this but I couldn't work out how to save it. Also I see there is a master input trim for each channel - would I be better off changing that, rather than saving each parameter? I have attached a screen shot of the system. I appreciate any advice, thank you.Read More...

Locked out of a Panaray system

I was declined membership from the Pro forum. Rather rudely, I thought. Our local church has a Panaray System II/ESP 1240. The microphones are dying. I bought some Shures and went to set them up. I'm locked out of the system. There is no USB. Connected to the system switch, the Control Space software finds no devices. In my country, this would possibly constitute a breach of consumer protection. You might think Bose would take an interest in this, but I've yet to encounter a tech company...Read More...

L1 model ll: power stand - ANALOG INPUT

Hi guys, I just received my two new model ll's as a trade up from my two Classic model 1's. On my classic systems I always used an XLR cable (male/female XLR connectors) from my mixer output(s) to the input channel on my Classic power stand. I seemed to have a hotter signal using an XLR vs a TS 1/4 inch. I generally ran the Classic systems on a 3 setting for the input trim and had plenty of volume. Since the new model ll's only have a TS/TRS input jack, I purchased an XLR to TRS connector...Read More...

B1 speakon NL4 max cable length

Hi guys, I just traded in two Classic L1 model 1's for two new L1 model ll's. Has the maximum speakon cable length changed, going from the new model ll base stand to the B1 sub, or does it still have the same maximum length ? Best of my memory is the B1 shipped with an NL4 speakon cable, about 5 foot in length. I think I remember Bose had told me I can use a maximum of 10 foot on the speakon NL4 cable. Thanx mates !Read More...
Hello, MLB. You may be able to get away with running a longer cable (>25 feet total length), but that would be unusual. Typically, if you have two B1s you would stack them or place them side by side. Placed together like that you can get up to +3 dBA SPL more than if you have them separated. Ordinarily, you place the B1s close to the L1®. You might place them at a distance to get the B1s off a hollow stage, or out of a corner. Bose Pro Community AdminRead More...

L1 Upgrade

I currently have an L1 Model 1 system with 2 B1's for DJ use. I would like to add to this in some way. I would like to find out first of all if my existing Model 1 tower array (and B1's) would be compatible with a Model 2 (or Model 1S) power stand. Is there a great difference between the Model 1S and Model 2? Thanks in advance for any adviceRead More...
Hello Stew, Thank you for posting! The amplifiers are different between the L1 models, so the speakers aren't interchangeable. If you were to upgrade, a new power stand and new speaker array would be necessary. It's also worth pointing out that L1s are sold in packages which will, at minimum, have a power stand, array, and bass module. Regarding the L1 Model 1S and Model II, the difference is mainly two things: the amplifier and the number of speakers in the array. The Model 1S has 12...Read More...
