Hints for Getting Prompt, Targeted Answers from Bose

Use descriptive words in the title of your request: for example, "Help with ToneMatch presets". Tell us which model L1 system you are using: Classic, Model I, Model II, Compact, PackLite. Supplying the first six digits of your serial number will allow us to identify the model if you're unsure. Tell us as much detail about the situation: what kind of venue, what kind of set up on stage, etc.Read More...

Selecting Audio effect settings between songs.

I am in the process of researching the option of purchasing a t8s tonematch. I presently have been using a Mackie 1604 VLZ and a separate effects processor that we control via a midi pedal to select the effects for each song. Is there a quick way of selecting the effects between songs using the t8s?Read More...
I understand that I cannot use the midi control. I wanted to see if there is a quick way that I can change the effects between songs (I.E. turn a knob to a preset setting that would set the effect for all channels) I dont want to have to go into the effects and save the saturation , etc each time I want to use a particular effect.Read More...

Bose 402-E

Todd Cole
Can I use a Bose 402-E active eq. with my Bose 802 speakers?Read More...
Hello Todd, Thank you for your question. Although this community is dedicated to discussions about the Bose Portable PA products I was able to get this advice for you. You can use any EQ you want, but we don’t recommend using the 402-E active EQ with your Bose 802 loudspeakers. We really can only recommend an 802 EQ. Even if it’s not the right series, any 802 EQ would be better than any 402 EQ on an 802. However, they’re not worlds apart. If the choice is between using a 402 EQ and using no...Read More...

Awesome Home Theater Subwoofer for the Money

I've retired my homebrew Home Theater 5.1 setup in favor of an all Bose 5.1 system. Two 251 Outdoor Speakers for the Left & Right, and a 151SE for the Center. Two 151SE's are also used for the Left & Right Surrounds. Mated to all this is an F1 Subwoofer ! Once everything was tweaked via my Marantz SR5011/Audessy MultiEQ XT iOS iPad app, the sound was wonderful. The Subs only kick in when required. Need specs on S1 Pro TRS Output

My question is about your S1 Pro described at https://www.bose.com/en_us/pro...s/s1_pro_system.html with regards to the TRS output. I need to use it for other than a speaker. What is its nominal output level, impedance, and allowable load so that the load does not affect the S1? Many thanks. (I looked at the manual and tried Google, but to no avail - the info is just not there.) (No reply from Community forum, either.) I am planning to connect to consumer line level input (about 1 V...Read More...

L1 II loss of volume

This system has worked flawless for 8 years. But at last nights gig we had to turn up the trim on the power base and tonematch to 3/4 to get even medium volume. When using the Tonematch, the "Trim" on the power base had no effect. Using my Mackie mixer with 1/4 input into the base rather than the cat5, it works fine, although there is a low hum that didn't used to be there, but is not detrimental.Read More...
Hello Bobby, Thank you for joining the Bose Portable PA Community. Since it's the weekend, I'm filling-in for Bose Support. Here's a little background information. The Model II Power Stand analog input trim has no effect on the signal from the T1® when it's connected through the ToneMatch port. The analog input trim only affects a signal input through the analog input. Please check your system (with T1) today. Hi! I have problems with my Bose S1 Pro, when I turn the volume upp on either/booth mic channels it comes some hum and even when I have connected to a mixer or linecable to my computer. Hello Oskar, Thank you for joining the Bose Portable PA Community. I am sorry you are having trouble with hum when you have other devices connected to your S1 Pro systems. Are you running the S1 Pro on battery when you hear the hum? Do you hear the hum if you run the laptop on battery? What you are describing could be a ground loop or a noisy power supply to your laptop. Multiple F1 Systems

Hi, I have used 4 F1 systems FOH including 620M's and 502A's side fill at a recent Jazz and Blues Festival. I tried a few configurations and settled on 3x 812's stacked outside, 4 subs side by side next to the stack and 2 812's stacked in the center. The stage was 60cm high and the speakers were on the grass. We had a 12m x 30m marquee. The system was LCR utilizing the built in xovers. Soundcraft Impact desk. The center 2x 812's were great. More presence. All components were connected in...Read More...
Greg, Thanks for your purchase of the F1 812 and Sub. You ask some good questions above – let me see if I can answer some of them…. “Do Not Stack the Subs” A close look at the cabinet configuration would indicate that there are no stacking cups or built in cabinet features to “Lock” these speakers together when they are stacked. The thought of doing that was outside the product development team’s vision of having a compact speaker/sub for both sides of the stage. The bottoms of the subs are...Read More...

L1 Model 2 cable to tone match

I have an L1 model 2 that I use for professional continuing education presentations. I have a presentation approaching during which I will need a long run of cable from the L1 to the Tone Match (50' or more). The supplied cable is about 14' long. What exactly do I need to buy in order to separate the Tone Match from the the L1 this distance away? Thanks for any help you can offer.Read More...
Hello, John. Up to fifty feet you can use a CAT-5 or CAT-6 network cable. For distances beyond that, consider getting at ToneMatch power supply to power the T1 and then a balanced cable (1/4 inch Tip-Ring-Sleeve) cable. You may have trouble sourcing a long 1/4" Tip-Ring-Sleeve cable so you can use an XLR cable (or two if necessary) with XLR to Tip-Ring-Sleeve adapters on the ends. You can find more details in this article. T1 Cables Bose Pro Community AdminRead More...

Feedback with Martin Performing Artist and Shure mic with Harmony Singer pedal

I too am having feed back problems. I cant increase the volume control on the Bose for the guitar input past the 50% level without having severe feedback. I am using a Harmony Singer stomp box. Hello, Don. I am sorry no one has replied to your question. What model L1® do you have? Do you have a T1® or other mixer? (If not a Bose ToneMatch mixer, please provide a link to the owners manual). If the feedback is from the vocal microphone, then yes,...Read More...

ToneMatch Preset for Ribbon Mic

Feedback Solutions?

I am a keyboard player/vocalist fronting a trio with 2 other vocalists (guitar and drummer...both of whom use a separate PA). My Roland KB (FP-7F) has a variety of mixer-like functions (mic reverb/harmony type & levels), EQ, master gain, etc.). I use an SM-58 mic directly into the KB's 1/4" mic port and out to the L1's channel 2 enabling both keys and vocals/harmonies. Since we play in smaller venues, I am often unable to have the L1 a sufficient distance behind me in any position thus...Read More...

L1 ll stand heating

silly question maybe, but it’s the first time I switch off my L1 model 2 !! My partner has always done this so far. After running for about 6 hours the top of the base (behind the handle) seemed very hot to me. Not enough to fry an egg on, but hot. I’m probably just worrying for nothing but would like to know roughly how hot the base can get after a long run. Thanks for your helpRead More...

T1 audio cuts out.

I use the T1 with L1 model II, or a Compact depending on the situation. T1 is 8 years old. Recently after playing for 10 to 20 minutes audio disappears. If I turn it off and wait a few minutes it will work again. Has happened repeatedly. I think T1 is the problem because the channel 1 trim light is red during restart, with nothing in the jack and trim = 0. Also some of the internal indicator lights don't work, and the selector switchs feel worn and don't really click. What is the fee for...Read More...
