I would say making a water resistant... using the same technologies that Bluetooth speakers use would be GREAT! I am not sure why cheap Bluetooth speakers can be water proof, and Bose portable PA gear is not... in fact this is true of all pro audio powered speakers. Hi Mahesh, Okay, this sounds good. I was checking to see if there was anything odd in your setup that might cause problems. No cause for concern here. Instead of Tape Delay and reverb, try this for your vocals microphone : Digital Delay Time: 100 ms Mix: 15% - vary up to 30% Fdbk: 0% - vary up to 10% You should have better intelligibility and move the vocals out in front of the backing tracks. Set up the T1 for stereo

Hello everyone, This is a guide on how to set up a T1 feeding two separate sources for left and right, e.g. two model II's or model I's. T1 is designed to be a mono device, so the setup for stereo is a little complicated. Attention DJ’s using the L1™ model I system, We recently identified an isolated issue that only affects DJ’s that are using Preset #58 (High Volume Pre Recorded Music) on the L1™ model I system. It was discovered that L1™ model I power stands with a serial number less than 042829Z72550001AC did not accurately contain the advertised preset #58. This preset is specifically intended for DJ’s playing pre recorded music at higher volume levels. Instead, it contained a flat EQ setting which is...Read More...

NATIONAL DJ ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT REVIEW

I just wanted to report on my first weekend of using my new BOSE system. I use the word power in parenthesis because two different meanings for the same word were revealed to me this past weekend. On Friday Night I had an event at my local NFL Stadium out on the field. I have done this event for the previous 4 years so this was my 5th and first with the BOSE system. The sound that came out of those two towers and 4 B1s was something like I have never heard before. It literally filled the...Read More...

L1 Benefits Statement

Ken-at-Bose
Hello Everyone, We wrote this before we introduced our new approach to live music amplification. These words appear on many of the cartons in the L1 family of products. We thought it would be good to repeat these words here.Read More...
This is an example of some of the old "Gems" which are turning up since the introduction of the new forum software. The words are as true now as they were then. Here's an example. My wife had a birthday party in January and I set up the Compact+T1 so that I could play easily for our guests and be heard anywhere in our living room which is L-shaped and about 50m2. Due to illnesses and bad weather forecast (snow) the party wasn't too big an affair and I could have played without amplification.Read More...

@andrewdouglas , I get your opinion about "eating the mic". That holds true with an SM58 and similar mic's. Decades ago my lead vocalist was female. One night after a 4 hour gig, I filled the kitchen sink with extremely hot tap water and dish soap. Steve Miller Band and Cylindrical Radiator(r) speakers

Ken-at-Bose
Some of us in the Live Music Technology Group recently went to see and hear the Steve Miller Band play at the Tweeter Center in Boston, a summer shed holding about 18,000 people. Steve has purchased a number of Cylindrical Radiator speakers over the past 18 months and has written us to tell us of his experiences with them. (With his permission, we've posted these HERE ). We did not realize until we arrived at the Tweeter Center that he was using the two most recently puchased double bass...Read More...
Even better than the 'patented' solution in the above post would be a simple wooden doorstop, because you could adjust the angle of declination of the sound pattern. Line array loudspeakers oriented vertically are 'aimed' to play to an audience that is an infinite distance away. To aim your L1 in such a way that plays with full volume to all rows of the audience, put a laser pointer on top of your L1 (or imagine one there) and insert the doorstop underneath the rear edge of the Power Stand...Read More...

Stage lighting

Forum: Solo Acts
I have spent a lot of time sifting through old (2013-2017) threads on this forum, reading about stage lighting. I am wondering if anyone has any new suggestions on stage lighting for a solo acoustic/occasional duo on a very shallow stage. For guitar and Mic do I need a DI box?

Hi I have a tonematch 4 with the model 2 and b2. I sing and play guitar (Ed Sheeran little martin) with two pedals: Boss RC 300 and TC Helicon Play Acoustic. On top of that my bose sysytem is US 110v and I am in south africa and bought a step down/step up converter (max 1000w) to allow for our 220v power. When I play with just the tc helicon I dont seem to get any real feedback or buzz but I do with the RC 300 connected(took it for a service and getting it back today). I am concerned that I...Read More...
Dylan, The purpose of a DI box is to take an unbalanced, high-impedance signal such as your guitar pickup and convert it to a balanced, low-impedance signal. This allows you to plug your guitar directly into microphone preamps or to send it’s signal over extended cable runs without losing volume. It doesn’t have anything to do with grounding. Also, among its other features, your PlayAcoustic IS a DI box — so you’re already covered in that department.Read More...

Running T8s in Mono with Single L1 M2

Folks, I am new to the forum so here goes my first post. When I use my L1 M2 with my new T8s how do I run in Mono?Do I simply just Pan everything to the Right channel (labelled Mono) and use that as the single output to the L1. Does using 1/4" or XLR outputs make a difference or are the output levels same on both?Read More...
Hi Kruiser, For mono output, you can do as you suggest, which is what the Wiki suggests. If you don't pan anything, it's possible that the R or L output would have lower signal than if you pan hard R and use the R output. Maybe that's why the Wiki suggests panning to one side.Read More...

Outstanding performance by my S1 today

Wireless From T1 Master Out to S1 Pro ?

Musicianthomas
Hi Gang! Got an unusual question/wondering. At two of my venues I use my L1 Model II with B2 Bass and T1 Engine. I also run a cable from my Master Out of the T1 to the S1 Pro Outdoors so that guests out on patios, etc can also hear the show. Works great because the cable slides under the door bottom fine without crimping or cutting into the cable in any way. In the other venue, the door it needs to go through is very tight and will ruin a cable by forcing the door closed on it. Door is too...Read More...

F1 Subwoofer with T1

Hi Longstars, Yes, the Aux level percent is does control the volume for Aux. I meant there is no physical volume knob for Aux.
