Hi Folks, I am very pleased to announce a special lecture for Monday evening, before the music starts. I need to give you a little background first. W. Eugene Smith was a world famous American photographer. I venture to guess that all of you know his work if not his name as he was one of Life Magazine's most gifted artists. I include here one image from one of the most famous Life Magazine essays called "The Country Doctor". There are many other Smith images that are world famous. edit: spellingRead More...

Howdy Partners, As many of you know, Tom Munch has been working to find a suitable venue in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado for a Fall users conference. I am pleased to inform you that we have found such a place. It is an absolutely beautiful area that is chock full of L1 players and other musicians (largely because of Tom). We've identified a wonderful establishment that has a stage and room for us to conference. For accomodations, there are rooms at the Cuchara Inn (where we'll hold the...Read More...

Monday Night Song Ideas

Tom Munch
Everybody join in on ideas for songs on Monday night. Ken posted a bunch of ideas to get us started on the wiki. If there is a song that you've always wanted to do, or maybe a song that you "own" & would like to do - bring it on. Don't be afraid to do something obscure or interesting. (Keep in mind that the rhythm section will have to back you up, so we need chords - & don't make it too difficult.) Easy songs would be any blues-based tune like "Kansas City". Harder songs would be...Read More...
Nancy, I added them to the wiki. We now have a choir for backup on this song. I'm looking forward to it! TomRead More...

Anybody flying into BOS during the day Sunday, 29? If my buddy declines to go/drive - I may just grab a cheap Jetblue flight JFK-BOS and figure it out from there. Does the Inn have any type of shuttle service from Boston airport? If not, maybe share a rental car with somebody from Boston airport to the Inn if interested and the schedule can match-up? I was trying not to take-off a matinee $how that day but if something "BIG" is going down at 6pm as brother Ken mentioned, I'll probably have...Read More...

Hi Folks, As previously announced, we'll have a number of acts playing a tune or two on Sunday night in the lobby bar at the Inn, a beautiful spot (see picture below). A number of you have already signed up for slots on Sunday and more are welcome. These slots will not use electric guitars or drums, as the lobby is lower key. On Monday night, however, we have the whole Lodge building to ourselves. This is where we take our meals, and it's a great expansive room, and we can be louder. I know...Read More...

I've added myself as I have two L1 Model II systems for this very reason of not wanting to be stuck if one dies - I tend to use both at gigs now anyway - but I know I can get away with one if I need to (I only had one system for 3 years anyway). If you are in need in the UK and within 50 miles of Milton Keynes I may be able to assist.Read More...

Hi Folks, The recent L1 Conference in Big Sur was such an inspiration that we want to know if this community wants to do it again, this time East of the Mississippi. We know a lot of you have read about Big Sur. We would truly love to have you all experience what we did. So many strong and positive things happened. One of the most interesting aspects of all this is that it was unplanned by Bose. Alan Steinberger got things started in a post dated Jan 12, 2006 . It was a simple, yet profound...Read More...

Happy Thanksgiving! May you be in the company of those you choose, doing what you want to do. It's my 15th Thanksgiving with the L1® whew! And since 2004, there have been a lot of changes. But how nice to be out there playing live music. I'm certain my Bose gear is behind that. I am thankful to Cliff, Ken, Hilmar, Steve, Kyle, Chris, and all of the other people at Bose who had the vision to bring an idea into reality, and to make that reality available to me. Looking for am L1/Mod2/B2

I am in MT and we are singing at Moms memorial service in the Boston area in April. Because there are 4 of us traveling I need to find a few dates to help pay for the trip. Shipping mine would be way costly I am afraid. I need to find the above setup, I can bring my own T1, etc, that I can use for maybe 10 days-ish. Not totally sure yet. Is there anyone that might be able to help me out? Thank you....Read More...

My high school band from 1967 is putting on a reunion concert in Union, NJ on October 13, 2017. Our budget for the show is limited and a Bose forum moderator suggested I post something here. As I used to live in the Lake District in England, the torrential rainfall over the last few weeks with the terrible flooding has left me speechless. Hi DrumrPete, thanks for the nice words in my direction. I've been well aware of your posts since I first started reading the forum which was quite a few years before actually joining in December 2 years ago. I've also watched many of your videos, which I've enjoyed. Regarding the flooding in England, I can watch what's happening on a daily basis as I have satellite reception of english television, and when you see pictures and films of towns (and sometimes even streets that you know) it...Read More...

Blizzards in North America

Hi Everybody, in January last year I started a thread regarding the snowstorms in North America at that time. It seems like it's time to share sympathy with that region once again. I hope that everyone in the stricken areas comes through this weather front unscathed. Take care if you have to go outside. Warm rugs in your vehicle is always a good idea in winter, and enough petrol (gas) in the tank is a must (running engine = heat should all else fail). Take food and something to drink with...Read More...
