Email Notifications and Following a Forum or Discussion

There are several ways to turn on email notifications so that you are notified when someone posts or replies in the community.

When you create a new discussion or reply to someone else's you are automatically subscribed to that discussion. That means that you don't need to check back to see if anything has happened. You will get an email as soon as there's activity.

Here's a quick video that shows you the various places that you can control your email notifications.

OR

  1. Click Forums
  2. Click Directory
    Forums Directory
  3. Click Follow Forums (turn on or off notifications for ALL forums
    Follow Forums
Check or uncheck what you want to get, then click UPDATE

  4. If you have turned off notifications for all forums you can scroll down through the directory to a forum you want to follow (get notifications. Click Follow This Forum and check the boxes that are right for you.

    Click UPDATE

Now you know how to control your notifications and enjoy your community.

Thanks, I am still confused about how to unfollow topics. For example I ONLY want to subscribe to the S1 Pro forums, but I see that I am following the L1 as well for example. When I try to unfollow the L1 forum by clicking in it - it does change my status. Is there a way to unflow specific forums please?

Hi Ted,

Something isn't working correctly. I'm sorry.

I've just put in a support ticket about this problem.  I'll be back with an update.

Thanks for your patience.

So what you have to do is actually go to 'Forums Directory' and then turn off all 'follows'. After that you can go to the forum you want to follow and turn it on. Discovered this quite by chance!

Hi Ted,
Thank you. I've added your approach to this in the article above.
