Hello, I purchased two Bose L1 Compacts about 8 years ago, and love them. Recently, one of the Compact’s volume faded and eventually lost all sound about 3 hours into a gig. I could not re-produce the problem at home, but now I’m concerned that it may happen again. Can Bose Service do diagnosis and tune-ups for Bose equipment? Flappy & rattly sound

I have had my S1 Pro since the Summer. I use it for small gigs and for practice. I use a Korg Krome DI and my guitars and bass guitar through the T1 Tonematch. My S1 has got really rattly and "flappy" when low end sounds go through it . I never run it at top volume or push it that hard and I am careful to make sure it is not peaking more than occasionally. The roughness comes at fairly low volume. Does this sound like a fault? It really doesn't sound right to me.Read More...
Hi Phil C, Do you mean the bass? Are you using a DI box? If so, then Try it without the DI Try a different bass Does it sound flappy with the Korg Krome? Let's see if we can figure out where the problem lies. You should NOT need to buy another piece of gear to solve this. It's a problem with certain frequencies, you can use the T1 to help with that. But let's figure out the source of the problem first. STRead More...

Joined this forum having literally just found about the new Bose S1 and want to get other performers' opinions. I'm a singer who uses backing tracks, and want to replace my heavy portable system. I currently use Behringer EPS500MP3, compakt 8 Channel PA System which I bought 3 years ago. It's OK but have never quite felt 100% happy with it. It's powerful, but it's a bit muddy when you put the vocals in over the backing tracks, which I run from my laptop; it's like the voice and backing are...Read More...

Recording with iRig 2 and T1

Question on (2) Model 2 position for 3 piece band

Hello, I just had a question on the best placement for our 2 L1 systems for my 3 piece band. We played one show already and I positioned them as you see in the sketch. Connecting 4 F1 Stacks

What is the optimal way to connect two F1 systems together? I have tried multiple routes but it seems like the second F1 Model 812 always clips due to a hot input signal. My usual setup is a Pioneer DDJSZ2 to a Mackie ProFX12. I have tried Model 812 to F1 sub to second 812 to second F1 sub. I have also tried F1 sub to second F1 sub and 812 to second 812 using a driverack. Would a XLR splitter for the 812s solve the problem of the signal being too hot for the second pair?Read More...
Hi djmaverick, The F1 Subwoofer volume control does not affect the F1 Subwoofer LINE OUTs. Like this: " Model 812 to F1 sub to second 812 to second F1 sub " and turn down the volume on the second F1 Model 812 so it doesn't clip. OR Run two outputs from the Mackie mixer as I described above. STRead More...

Using S1 as a monitor

Ok guys Last night I was doing a fair sized venue with around 150 people in, it's a nice sized room with great acoustics and a nice big stage area, so I loaded the L1 Model 2 with B2 and had the S1 onboard which I planned to use as a monitor. Not sure if I connected things properly but I was running the M2 from the Tonematch port on my T1, got the FoH sound then ran a balanced lead from the T1 main output to the S1 and that's when I encountered issues. When I began to increase the volume of...Read More...
With the info from ST using the S1 as a monitor should’ve worked fine. We have a Yamaha MGX12 mixer with our L1M2 and use the mixer’s Aux Out to go to the S1. That’s pretty much what you were doing with the T1 it seems. That approach worked great for us. We actually didn’t use the S1 as a monitor but as an “extension speaker” to the L1. We periodically play in a venue that is L shaped and one of the Ls goes to the side and behind the stage (very awkward space). We used the S1 on a stand...Read More...

T1 partially unresponsive

Nick from New Zealand
I had the need to run a PAIR of L1 Model 2 this weekend. Last time I did this, I ran dual mono and didn't get enough separation between the sticks and it sounded bad bad bad. So this time, I set everything up, followed all the instructions for a proper stereo config and with 6 metres between them, and used a power supply for the T1. I ran from a stereo DJ mixer to ch 1 and 2. XLR to TRS. Ch1 was presumed master out. Ch2 was set up for AUX out. Here's what was wrong during the test set up.Read More...

I have a MicroBR. The tricky bit is that there are two inputs: A 1/4" guitar level input and a 1/8" stereo input for microphone or CD player. The guitar input would probably be overwhelmed by a line level input (distort) but you could give it a try with a guitar cord between the Tonematch (aux output turned way down?) and the Boss MicroBR. The 1/8" input will require a special patch cord to convert from XLR or 1/4" balanced output from the Tonematch to a 1/8" stereo plug carrying mono output...Read More...
